no oil will come out when you take it off, except a small amount just have a rag handy.

When you had the timing belt done, did you drive it home and it was working ok without any of these faults, or has the car been running shit since the work was done?
-

Yes i have got two sessions, i want a 3rd though

these are oversize pistons

If the batt light is coming on its gonna be your alternator failing, the other light is probably random as your cars not getting enough juice.

Hi I have bought two engines from GTBitz and both have been great, I don't think these problems are anything major to worry about, a flickering oil light is most likely a dodgy connection to the oil pressure sensor, or in the very worst you may need a new sensor which is cheap and a DIY job. There is a single wire clip located on the front of the engine block to the right hand side, its to the left of the clutch cylinder. Just pull it off clean up both contacts and then put it on, i reckon that will fix it. What do you mean wont boost properly can you please describe it in more detail, what

i heard around 5k which doesn't exactly give you much rpm to play with
-
Sounds like its misfiring, take all your leads off clean up the contacts with a squirt of wd40 in the ends, then take your dizzy off and clean up the contacts inside as well as the rotor arm. While your at it take your plugs out and gap them properly, if they are new they they are nearly always way to far apart. Give that a try and then let us know.

Seems i have been having problems with this since i changed to this Forge Actuator shown here Do you think it could be to do with the spring in it being not up to the mustard, i am having to put shit loads of pretension on the actuator before i hook on the arm to the wastegate in order to maintain a decent boost level. -
My boost pressure is all over the shop, can anyone offer any reasons why. I am currently using a forge actuator on a TD04 internally gated. It seems if i set the boost to about 0.8bar it remains solid througout the rev range, its when i go higher i start getting this seesawing effect through the rev range, It flys straight to 0.8bar but then slowly increases to what ever bar i set it too as the revs rise, problem with this is that i have to set the initial boost pressure lower as it increases. Its not boost creep in case anyone thinks so as its a TD04 running fairly low boost so its not an i

I think you have to look at the bigger picture i guess on what course is ultimately going to get you a job at the end of it, there are loads of people who graduate with a great degree or college qualification only to find there is no work in the field they specialised in. I would say Motorsport engineering (as a degree) is a fairly niche market and i could imagine finding a job in Wales would be particularly difficult, 5T4R7ET N/A is right saying do IT, its a broad area and there are always IT jobs about, but like you said if you like mechanics that much then go for it, why work in a Warehous

May as well stick in my 10 pence worth too, i stripped mine out totally too. It wasnt my daily so for the first 12 months it didnt bother me, but even as my 2nd car although it was quicker it became really anoying to drive. Its about 10x louder in the cabin than normal, you suddenly realise you can hear every single rattle, squeek and on top of that on the motorway i would go deaf after driving for 30 mins!! It is fun to do it but in my opinion it ruins the car in the long term, you would be mad to do it if its your daily!
-
whip the intercooler pipe off coming from the turbo and see if there is any oil in there, a little bit is normal but if its soaking in there its your turbo
-
oil spurts out the back, what do you mean, where from exactly?
-
Yeah like starbuck said, check all your vacume pipes on the back of the intake.

I know what you mean about TGTT, its gone really shit lately, no organised events, hardly any news updates and like you said no one replying to anything other than the moderators,UKSC for the win!!
