Quick question, i know there are loads of different types of oils but what should i use for the 4EFTE, manuals say semi-synthetic but i know people use fully synthetic. Semi or Full?

Yeah good advice, its too close to the date to fuck around adding new mods! Would have been nice to have the extra dials working but i will just be more careful and have a beady eye on the temp meter. My car is still smoking as hell though when it gets hot, its still burning off all that pissing oil from the exhaust, gonna take it for a blast tomorrow and try and get rid of it!!

Not sure if i should fit my oil cooler tomorrow for japfest 2, i havent had any chance to test it and wondering if i would be making a bad move fitting it. My luck isnt good enough for it to fit, not leak and work straight away lol

sweet, car is now nearly back together just need someone to hold on the brakes for me to tighten the crank pulley, i also just serviced my brakes Still got to take it for a long blast to burn all the excess oil tied up in my exhuast baffle, smoking like a bitch at the minute on boost!! Changing my belts tomorrow morning seeing as they are off and a bit old now, i remember the PAS belt is a shorter one because i have removed the Aircon. What car is this belt off so i can go get one from the motor factors tomorrow? as its obviously shorter with the aircon unit now gone.

Yeah pull the pipe off, clean inside the pipe and the surface it mates onto, then stick the original clip back on, that should hold it ok just make sure you get a nice snug fit in the countersunk part of the pipe

Thanks for the help with this guys, i am just so glad its just some stupid cover causing it, but it did sound bloody awful as the videos show, i just need to put it back on so it doesn't do it again! The accent is that noticeable then eh?

LADY LUCK IS WITH ME TONIGHT LOL!!! just finished stripping it, took me bloody ages to get the Crank pulley bolt off at the bottom, i had almost given up hope after 2 hrs of trying to lock the engine, then by chance i left a socket and wrench on it then started the car, the wrench got jammed by accident and the force of the starter motor literally spun the bolt off! I couldn't believe my luck lol, got the pulley off, removed the cover, started the car and the tractor sound has gone. Some how the covering was fouling the oil pump pulley making that horrible noise!!! Result, FIXED im still go

Ok got all the belts off, started the car and double checked and still same noise just to rule auxiliary out. I am having a bit of trouble locking the engine so i can get the pulleys off. Where is the best place to lock it?

I took the bolt out , yeah will get it stripped tonight, does anyone know how to replace the oil pump if its that, why do i get the feeling this is going to be a bitch!!

Looking at the cover it seems a bit of a royal cahoont to get off, what do i need to strip off to get it off, looks like i need to take the crank pulley off to get it off??

Well thats fucked then, options for repair, i havent stripped one out before, whats the process, can i get it done with engine in?, i got to get this done by Sunday!

Ok found exactly where the noise is coming from, can feel the vibration knocking behind the cover in that place and also make the noise stop moving the cover, what is behind where i explain in the 2nd vid, what ever is behind there is the culprit. http://s422.photobucket.com/albums/pp310/m...nt=MOV01280.mp4 Taggy

Ok so need to get this sorted before japfest, taken the top cam cover off and its not coming from the two top pulleys, its coming from either the middle one (i think thats the tensioner) or possibly lower down so in the middle of getting the cover off that too. This car is being stubburn as hell at the minute, it keeps throwing curve balls at me to stop me taking it to Japfest, gotta bloody try and trouble shoot a weird tractor like sound coming from behind my cam cover now arrrrrgggghhhhh!!

Gonna strip it again later on, its just another pain in my ass that i could be doing with out so close to Japfest!

Rollin roaded the car yesterday and it made 201bhp, so i was like sweet, now i have started it today im getting a weird tractor like noise coming from behind the cam cover. I have half taken it off and its got louder when i pulled it back so its definetly somthing in there, the noise is specefic to inside the cover and not from within the head, doesnt get any louder when i take oil cap off. What pullies are in there and what could be making this bloody noise, when you rev it the noise increases with the RPM. I hope nothing is fucked thi

New Dyno results in and cars nearly ready to cause mayhem at Japfest 2 201bhp at the crank at 0.93 bar, well chuffed with this as there is loads more in it if i need to, i could probably get another 15-20bhp increase just by changing over from the standard ECU Also got my oil cooler finally

Hey I wrote that guide on swapping out the diff on TGTT, if your reading the right one i changed a Quaiffe diff in mine, do it your self its not a difficult job if you have the box out and follow the guide. I am here to help if need be. Craig

How do i set my options so it saves my sent msgs, by default it doesnt save any which is a pain in the ass some times when i need to check stuff. Any ideas?
