little updates. picked up this motorbike exhaust for free for a play about as the Boso style i wanted may attract the police too much, and it turned out like this... ] gonna connect it up next weekend! got a fully refurbed GT turbo rear beam + adjustable panhard rod for £30!!! (god know when ill bother fitting it though) went a bit radge and bought some JDM/ drift style fiberglass bolt on arches from Stucat87 which ill get photos up of when they arrive! means ill be taking a grinder to my front and rear arches which will be... entertaining..... to be fair though, what it need

Lee, this things looking great! Its come so far in the few week you've had it, seriously impressed mate! Wish mine was half as clean as this. What's next for it then?

bit of an old bump, but a mate of mine has a fez ST (56 plate) and has upgraded to mk1 focus brembos meaning he has the stock fez calipers handy. now seen as the bolt holes on the focus brembos line up with a starlet the fez calipers will also fit as they are the same but they take a 280mm disc instead of 305mm the focus brakes require. for which there are plenty of options for disc (cheapest ive seen are golf g60 discs), the fiesta calipers are also maybe an 1/8th of the price at around £40ish for 2 front ones and will happily fit under 15s. they also stop a big 1100kg 2.0 car very well so s

yes please mate, they brandnew or cut? send a pic over Pm well that looks fucking ace! gonna have to do it!

as title says, need opinions on these bolt on wide arches you can buy, because even with my arches flared right out my wheels will still protrude outwards (15x8 et0). also since im going to be running a livesports wing + a standard N/A body i think it may look kinda cool. something like this so do people reckon they will look sh*t or cool? anyone fitted them? they easy to shape to your body etc? thanks in advance! Sam.

hmmm, may just leave it then. police round here have a massive hard on for anything modified and cant be arsed with the hassle haha
-
Sure they're illegal? Surely protruding exhaust piping is fine since caterams, lorry's and some landrovers have exhausts on the outside. I'll give VOSA a ring because can't be bothered with more hassle off the police :/

got any pics of it on yours Dan? even if it does look gash ill probably leave it on. got a bit of a boso fetish haha, very nearly bought some rivet on arches for it the other day! gonna give it a try start of next month as i have a whole spare exhaust to mess around with. gonna order some 3 inch stainless and get it bent to shape, hopefully have it stick up as far as the top of the bumper.
-
cheers mate! yeah, most people probably think its disgusting but i love it hahah. and the plan for the exhaust is something like this.... no idea if it will suit the starlet though! thoughts? Sam.

few updates: rolled my arches ;) Also fitted my new seats, steering wheel, harnesses and how they look now couple of pics from the other night Next up is false floor and a service. and got an idea for an exhaust that will either look massively sh*t or cool... Sam.

So since i started this topic ive fitted my rolla inlet mani, got the cat welded back in, TRD panel filter and stripped the starlet out. cost me fuck all and the difference is immense. never noticed the rolla mani when i had it on my old starlet but on this one it pulls really well! it'll do 97mph in 4th gear! admittedly it doesnt have much to give in 5th though haha. went out with my mates for a blast down the bypass where i live the other night, normally i get left for dead (one has a 1.9tdi polo 100BHP and the other a fabia VRS) but no, beasted the fabia with EASE up to 85/90mph, he was

So.... New tyres, seat rails, steering wheel, manifold gasket etc all arrived. Cats going back in the exhaust this week as well as getting insurance, tax and get the new tyres on. Seats will have to wait a week or so while I fab the mounts up. Expensive month! Definitely not good on an apprenticeship wage! Sam.
