so after lowering my car, it corners like a go kart. unfortunately the seats no longer hold me in so decided to go for bucket seats and 5 point harnesses. already found the seats and harnesses i want which come with sliders on the bottom. How hard is it to swap rails over? and does anybody have spare EP91 rails for sale rather than me hack up my existing ones? secondly, with bucket seats i want a false floor in the back to make it look CLEAAANNNN ;) can make one easy enough, but wanna see photos of peoples false floors for inspiration haha. also did anyone wooden supporting beams to lie t

how can you get the seats lower in the car? was wondering if its the standard rails that make them sit so high? will aftermarket ones solve it? Sam.

finally saw this thing up close, unreal how low it actually is. LOVE IT had a look around for you getting into it but didnt see you
-
welcome along mate, where you at? im in carlisle
-
where do i begin? had the car a month and spent every day (more or less) trying to just get back to where my old one was. added a few extra bits and bobs. now in the process of trying to get wheels ready. been at them with the sandpaper and rattle cans as i cant afford powder coating so their a bit rough to say the least, gonna get them done properly when funds allow but i want them on for Japfest. gotta take the car to get tyres fitted, balanced and tracking done, then lower it more, sort out the grinding noise from my brakes :S clean inside and out and do an oil change etc. this is all tomo

a little tip for you. go to halfords (yes, HALFORDS) and buy their own brand 'Shock and Unlock' i sprayed it on, left if 5 minutes and the thing wound off no bother at all. never been so happy in my life.

looks great on the wheels mate! and glad you found the wire for the parcel shelf. cant wait to get this and mine side by side Sam. -

i know this is an age old argument but i want to know how important back pressure is, recently put a full straight through on my N/A and my dad keeps going on about getting blowback through the valves and that their only really any good on turbo engines. that said ive heard that a straight through on an N/A is fine, ive also felt a decent increase in power through the rev range and picks up A LOT quicker. can someone settle this for me. straight through on an N/A, yes or no? Sam.

195 45 16 and their 7j, plus ill be rolling the arches when they go on with the trusty heatgun and mallet. but gonna be on the lookout for banded G60s and loudness-wise, its set off car alarms put it that way haha... although havent revved it hard yet. so not entirely sure. kinda annoying to drive with now ive gone and done it though edit: also the offsets ideal (ET38) so they will clear the arches no bother when its dropped
-
their 16"..... shall see how it goes! and yeah dan, ideally i want banded steels but their £££ also got this welded up tonight: its rather loud. Sam.
-
its going wayyyy lower, waiting til the new wheels go on though so i can get it perfect. and im putting these on dan: just went and bought paint supplies (gunmetal grey) and prepping them this afternoon, also getting my straight through done today. my have to calm down on spending money now for a while because its getting out of handhaha Sam.

updates: yaris rear wiper arrived and cupholders thanks to Trisk also fitted my D2s, handling is amazing now! 90mm drop on the front and 80mm on the rear, will be going lower but gonna wait for them to settle in first, plus need to fit the new wheels and check clearance before i slam it on its arse Sam.
-
ahh fair enough mate, never going that low! it wouldnt survive my local roads and i hope you can get it ready for Japfest, cannot wait to see it in the flesh! easily one of my favourite EPs
-
alright dan, im in the middle of slamming my starlet at the moment. how much is yours dropped (mm) front and rear? ive gone for 90mm front and 80mm rear but its looking mega low even before ive took it off the axle stands :S Sam.

shock'n'unlock and WD40 mate, then used a heatgun and heated in. cleaned the threads etc. nothing works
-
blow torch seems the best option, already let it soak for 48 hours and the ring is just gettin mangled :S
-
so got myself so D2s, overall in great condition. however, being 2nd hand the rings and feet were seized. also the previous owner not copper greasing the threads before fitting didnt help. so after 11 hours of heating, oiling and battering with a hammer 3 are free'd up and everything moves as it should. the last one (front one) is still seized, the ring the hold the foot in place is stuck fast so cant move either :S I only need it to screw up one thread so i can take the foot off but it wont budge. ive tried heating it, penetrating oil, hitting the ring with a hammer and punch/chisel. C-sp
-
yeah man bumpstrips are coming off at some point, coilovers hopefully tomorrow spent all today freeing up the feet and rings on them, got 3 done and are perfect even though its taken 10 hours! however one is still seized, broken 3 c-spanners trying to sort it, heated it, used penetrating oil, soaked it in oil etc... but nothing. gonna have another go at it tomorrow. Any tips on loosening them off? Sam.
-
thanks Dobson, just need your polo back on the road now so we can cause traffic jams whilst crawling over speed bumps ;) yeah, was gonna do them today mate but the lock rings and feet were seized. got one sorted and copper greased with everything moving nice and smoothly. just 3 more to do!! Sam.
-
yeah i know, hopefully gonna do it today! just waiting to see what the weather does and HOPE that my cupholders and yaris rear wiper arrive in the post yeah, i got pissed off with listening to the under dash piles of crap within 3 days so something needed done haha, and yeah fitting them myself haha ill try trim them, photo makes it look worse than it is i think thanks man Sam.

basically pull the whole inside of the rear quarter off, its taped up to the loom. took me a while to spot it in all honesty. but it was there, its hiding away, but you can see the plug on the end of it wish i'd taken photos so i could explain better Sam.
