  1. Problem sorted, I'm an idiot. I was having a look trough Ryans how to thread for changing the tb's from the fte to the na and realises that I had taken the sensor off the end, which 3 holes in the manifold. ***FACE PALM***
  2. Yes, it's the original throttle body that came on the 4e-fe. I will have a look and check everything is sealed up properly. Thanks
  3. Hi guys, Looking for some advice. I fitted the 5e-fhe to my n/a yesterday. The engine started on the 1st turn of the key, which was a relief, however on tick over. The engine hasn't been running for over a minute as I don't want to cause any damage as it is a freshly re built engine. I have blocked the extra vacuum pipes, also I have plugged it in to a snap-on ethos kit and got no fault codes. I am still using the standard 4e-fe ecu. Could this be the ecu adjusting or is something not right? Cheers in advance
  4. I have changed the injectors to the 5e-fhe and got an ajustable fpr, the fueling seems fine, its going to get hooked up to the ethos kit, and that will give a reading on afr.
  5. I'm guessing the ecu is basically going wtf is happening, last time I was started I was 1.3. Not sure whether its just adjusting. But I will check all the vacuum lines.
  6. Cheers guys. Plan is to get the revs on tick over sorted. Bleed the brakes and take it for a test drive on the trade plates. This prob won't be done until boxing day.
  7. Yes I need a new set asap
  8. Cheers Ryan, as much as I enjoyed doing the build I wouldn't do it again, too bloody expensive!
  9. After no updates for 3 weeks, the car is finally running. On the crane about to go in Picked this up for £60.00 compared to the usual £350.00 - A full japspeed stainless system Finally in Started on first turn of the key, although the revs are sitting on idle at 3000rpm - will look into this tomorrow
  10. Problem sorted, dodgy wire to the started motor. Cheers guys.
  11. I'll give that a go now. Cheers
  12. Hi guys, I have just finished the engine swap from a 4e-fe to a 5e-fhe. I have double checked every thing and it won't turn over. I haven't connected the HT leads yet as I wanted to check it turned over without starting it When I turn the key all I get is a humming noise. Does anyone have a clue as to what this could be? Cheers Chris
  13. No problem Ryan, what did you do with extra lambda sensor holes? I was just planning on getting them welded up
  14. Ah Right - only had this on a few moths ago to see which way it fitted, I will have a new custom system made when the engine is back in.
  15. I have decided to update as I haven't in a long time. I have copied this from my build thread on another forum, so the timescales are out a bit. Got the news 3 weeks ago that my engine would be back at the weekend, so I got the old engine pulled out ready for the rebuilt engine to go back in... So got to the Friday and my Dad phoned the engine builder and they said it would be ready for another week, by this time I was starting to crack up so we went to see the progress that had been made. The engine hadn't been touched in the 2 months it had been there. So my Dad and I decided we would build it ourselves. Cams out, let the cleaning commence. After a good couple of hours cleaning the head we decided the definitely need skimmed so that is going off this weekend for a skim and chemical clean. This week Finished painting the block and beginning to reassemble. A few goodies arried during the week **Updates** Engine back from machine shop. 1. Stage 2 head port and polish 2. Complete head rebuild, valve stem oil seals, re shimmed etc 3. Head skimmed to give maximum compression 4. Bores re honed 5. Crank lightened and balanced 6. All bearings replaced 7. Flywheel lightened and balanced Still now finished - encountered a few problems along the way, still progress is finally being made. Chris.
