  1. Blitz gets my vote. Easy to set up. Has a nice warning and safty feature that lowers duty cycle when boost goes over the set amount. Just a heads up, Mac 35A solenoids(which are used by nearly all boost controller manufactures) work on the blitz units as well so replacement solenoids are easy to come by. Also to the OP. As far as im aware, no boost controllers allow you to just put in a set amount of boost and be done with it. Boost controllers work by duty cycle and are not true closed loops systems.

    Zeldoz

Asked if he had a oil return pipe and he quickly replied. Dispatch and arrival of the pipe was as quick as his PMs. Very good!
  5. Quick to reply to my emails and any questions I had. Item dispatched and arrived (fully tracked) on the day he said it would. (Paid 22nd and item arrived 24th). A pleasure to deal with!
  6. The PLX really is a good bit of kit. Using the narrowband emulation which works flawlessly. No need for any free air calibration as well. I'm from SW London. If you've seen me around Kent, It's probably me visiting my cousin in Erith or heading to DMS.
  7. Wow! It's been over a year. Been really busy with work but have managed to get a few little bits done here and there. Also did a track day at Brands Hatch with a friend and his MX5. Only thing I need to change now is the breaks. Can only complete 3 or 4 laps before the brakes became useless. The remap last year didn't go to plan unfortunately. The stock actuator just didn't hold boost and dipped as low as 0.6 Bar. This has been remedied with a HKS adjustable actuator and now running 0.9Bar till redline PLX SM-AFR Wideband fitted so I could remap and adjust fuelling myself. Works a treat. Got hold of a SR TTE Spoiler. Resprayed and bonded to the boot lid. Makes the car look less blobby. Some Heko wind deflectors fitted just because. Found a starlet at my local scrap yard with clear indicators. Bought and fitted. I had a set of Lenso RS5 Alloys sitting in my garden for a year. Decided to refurb them myself in gun metal grey. Stumbled upon some K-Sport Kontrol Pro coilovers. Car is now lowered! Handles really well but the ride is rather harsh. Nankang NS-2R tyres fitted at the front. Really good tyres and really sticky. Tested them at Brands Hatch and cornered really nicely. Some pics of how it stands now:
  8. I've had some Philips Xtreme Power +80% bulbs in the car for 3 years now. Surprisingly they haven't blown but they have gone dimmer and yellower. TBH, I should have replaced them last winter, I've no Idea why I'm doing this now. Did some research on the internets and started reading about relay harnesses that enable you to run the bulbs straight off the battery/alternator with minimal voltage drop. In order to get electricity to the bulb, wires run to the bulb from the fusebox, into the dash through the stalk switch, then back out through the firewall into the bulb. Thats a very long path to take. I've taken measurements with a DMM; voltage at the bulb was 12.2V and the alternator was pumping out 14.3V. Thats a drop of 2.1V. After a week these showed up: Osram Night Breaker Plus +90% H4 Bulbs I thought I'd try Osram bulbs this time since I had Philips bulbs before. Price: £11 Delivered. H4 Relay Harness The harness took about a week to arrive from Thailand. Cost: £18 Delivered. Installing took about 30 minutes. Change the bulbs. Use the new connectors from the relay harness and plug them into the bulbs. Connect the stock H4 connector to the input of the new harness. Hook up your +ve and -ve from the relay harness and you're done. The results: Both bulbs are Osram Night Breakers, however the drivers side bulb was connected to the stock loom. You can clearly see the 2.1V difference. Sharper cut-off, wider beam and generally brighter. The Osram Night Breakers are somewhere on the verge of being pure white. They have a very slight tinge of yellow to them. Thats to be expected as they are not styling bulbs like the Philips BlueVision Ultras or the Osram Cool Blue Intense. Those will probably give you a pure white/blue-y colour. Brighter whiter light without the stupid glare. I've been there and done that with HID kits. Too much glare and IMO they just look stupid without projectors. The Night Breaker Plus Bulbs with the Relay Harness lived up to my expectations. It's too bad I don't have a OEM bulb to compare it to as the differences would be huge. Now, the only problem is bulb life. I'll just have to wait and see to know how long these bulbs last.
