  1. aye cant wait to get out in it and give it a blast fibreglassing is quite fun if you have mates to help roller it, but when your on your own all day itchin like youve got crabs, it can do your head in a bit. i cracked the boot lid out of the mould today, made this part extra thin, as its only a small panel. one layer of tissue and one layer of chopped strand. it came out of the mould no problem, and its very very light ive decided to cut off the lower bit of the boot lid, and make an ally panel thats bolted in between the rear lights to mount the numberplate and light. so i dont have to

  10. sweet sweet, i'll pm you you fella today i made the fuel tank guard, i ended up usuing some stainless steel sheet instead of the aluminuim, as its stronger and less prone to decay. ok it weighs a bit more but i didnt use that much. i forgot my camera once again... but hannah came down to work on the car and she brought her phone with a camera on and took some pics, so i'll post them once she has uploaded them. i dont think ive put that i'm sharing the car with hannah, as she has a corsa which is her daily and only uses it for autotests, but wants a car to rally, so we goin halfs. :S i

    Went boooooom

the limiter wouldnt have worked, as it limited by the fuel pump/injectors, so oil from the turbo would have let it rev to what ever wanted with no controll.
  13. engine conversions are allways easier if you have the donor car, and transfer the lot over.
  14. i allways go for a full kit, as I've had tensioners fail before, so i allways replace the whole lot. cam belt on a starlet aint too bad, as you only have one cam wheel,
  15. lovin that bumper dude, so is it off a factory starlet then? perfect style for a rally replica
  16. lol, naa, i have plenty of mates who can get me stuff ;) i do a favour for them, they do a favour for me sexual favours too if i wish stickers, nuts, bolts, metal, machining, tyres, tools got a mate for each of them, so i'm never stuck for parts its good to have plenty of friends round to help you out.
  17. aye, lifes too short, and when i'm older i'm probably gonna be bolloxed, so might as well do it all while i'm young enough. no progress on the car today, apart from i recived the V5 through the post ;) sweeet tomorrow i think i'll pick up some more resin and get cracking with the bonnet and boot lid, and make a fibreglass/aluminium sandwich fuel tank guard, i managed to get some 3mm ally sheet, so to make the guard i'll wrap the tank in cling film, put on a few layers of glass and resin, then bond on the ally sheet, and then cover with more fibreglass/resin. then once its cured, crack it of
  18. lol that would be pretty cool indeed looks like the paseo is probably goin castrol colours ;)
