Did some more work on it today, finished off the backbround vinyls, fitted cam belt, shimmed up the valves, just got to change the oil and set the timing and fingers crossed it should be OK and not smokey :S

The car was gonna get raced this year in the BTRDA rallycross champoinship, but last week i got an email, its been cancelled for this year.... ghay. so looks like I'll be doing some hillclimbs in it for this year... looks like all my previous pics have gone, whats happened to the forum since i've been gone? seems its all gone to cock?

Yeah sorry, a lot happened last year, got a new job, and got married too. Been working on it today, made the polycarbonate windows, and wrapped the roof in carbon fibre too. I'll get some more pics up tomorrow.

whats the actual difference between the engines? head or block height?

yep just checked, 4 teeth longer, 5e has 128 teeth and 4e 124 balls, back to autofactors before it shuts.....

got the head back, and just put it back on the engine. put each piston to TDC and rotated the cam shafts to check for any interferance, and there isnt any, even with 1mm shaved off there! so good news is, even if the cam belt snaps, the engine shuld be ok. picked up a new continental cam belt and alt belt for 28 squids from my local auto factors, so once the rain stops, i'll get it all back together, anyone know of any tubular exhaust manifolds for sale? cheeeers

Allreety, has anyone got a full toyota optional lip kit for the paseo that i can borrow to take moulds from? so i can make them from fibreglass. i'll be able to produce them pretty cheap for members on here. cheers Rob

just stripping the head off at the moment, to change the valve stem seals. been to toyota today to get the bi-hex tool for the head, but they didnt have one.......... and i saw the new 86 in there yesh yesh just arrived this morning. i asked if i could have it to race, and they sponsor me, they say noooooo, but may sponsor th other 86 and paseo. and bad news, the paseo doesnt qualify for stock hatch, its toooooo light. so will go in Supermodified :S so while ive got the head off, its getting skimmed 1mm to up the compression, port and polish the head, and match the manifolds for now. theres no carbon on the pistons, and the bores are mint, so its got potential for a bit of tuning.

just got a set of 14 inch A032 yokahamas in soft compound all my other tyres are forest/gravel

also, anyone got a standard gear knob?
