i would get your back brakes shecked out mate. prabably you will find that there will be a lot of dust in them and that you will only need the sharp edge on the leading shoe filled down a bit so the point isnt as sharp and probably the inside of the drum cleaned with sandpaper. try that first mate though maybe you might need a mechanic
i would have a guess at stripping most the of head down phil, re shimming the valves for clearance, replaceing the cams. basically letting more air in and out though im not sure jus how much of a difference.
the easy way to put it is i think the advance with the red lip is Somhairle off toyotagtturbo and the rest are jay's!! lol quite a collection the man has!!
sure one of us had to try and get knocked down mate for the success of the site!! lol pics turned out very well phil!! the 3 ep91's were looking very well!! lots of expensive kit floating about!! very good day even though it did get cold quite quickly!! but guess wat the rain stayed off!! very good day roll on the next meet!!
disconnect the powersteering? that i think will be hard becasue you will find it very hard to turn when the engine isnt running. unless you replace it with a unit from an non pas unit from a starlet. try turning your steering wheel with the engine off and you ll see what i mean. you should be looking somewhere in and around the high 17-18 mark i think
the engine was hunting. i.e. going from ticking over speed to near stall then back to tick over again i think there are 2 going to the manifold one goies from the rocker cover and the other i think goes to the vacuum for the brakes. there is another that runs to the intake pipe from the rocker cover. hope that helps a bit
you could always go the option of tranplanting a 5e-fe if you wanted to keep the insurance down. maybe the cams from a 5e-fhe and a 4-1 stainless exhaust manifold.
the last time i was talking to jay he was driving a hairdressers spec crx de sol !! lol . yeah he has one at the minute but its being kept in the warm and dry!! lol!! gotta give him a shout an see wat the craic is.
