Yep. What way does the steering wheel sit? Down to the left or right? You can try the 'magic spanner' approach i call it haha. Adjust the track rod ends about 1 turn at a time, to bring the steering into centre. So if the wheel sits down to the left say then shorten the OS track rod by a turn or so and see if the wheel comes into the centre. Or just take it to a place which has a proper machine like a hofmann. Also make sure nothing is worn like lower arm bushes, ball joints, track rods etc.

Yes i ment get a d4d box to use the 5th from, the rest of my 85 C50F box is solid, plus the transfer wont mount to the d4d C53 box. Ok cheers, i'll look into it, all the seras i see are autos. Never seen a cynos here. Quite a few paseos though, could probably get a hold of a paseo box if the 5th gear was longer than a UK starlet box.
-
Was hoping youd see this haha! Its for my N/a GT, theres a UK box in it just now, i dont want to compromise the lower gears by putting a C52 turbo box in. If the gears are not interchangable then fuck it lol. I will buy a d4d box for the 85 at some point though.

Cheers bud, i did have a look on wiki but some of the stuff can be a bit off so was not 100% sure. When i had my e11 4efe corolla it sat at around 4k on the motorway so cant be fucked with that again! My ep85 is even higher haha. The yaris d4d has the longest 5th and final so could probably go down that route eventually, but if it would be on the 85.
-
Are the ratios actually the same? Thats shit if they are haha.

I have a C52 gearbox here mostly stripped, i was gonna put the 5th gear in my UK N/a box for a lower RPM on the motorway, does anyone know if its possible? Heard about gears being thinner or something?! Ive no had a N/a box apart to compare. Also whats the UK N/a box code? Cheers, Dan

It was only a matter of time before i blew up the 85 haha, i was pretty much flat out in 5th when it went! 85 will be back eventually when ive got it how i want it The GS300 is pretty ballin tbh so i do like cutting about in that haha, although its got to soon! The only bits i can think of atm are in my wee list, but will no doubt think of other bits i need

Cheers Dale, been fuckin ages since i came got that engine off you! I might be interested depending when you were getting rid. Was gonna get the backbox chopped off and put by 5zigen border 304 on it
-
I kinda forgot aswell haha. Yeah man, this should make a pretty decent daily, dont get me wrong the lexus is a fuckin awesome daily but i need rid of it before the winter or i will die in it haha!

Christ well this is a thread from the dead! Today was the first time i have worked on this since september.. charged the battery, put an inlet manifold on it, filled with oil and started it up Gonna steal a few parts from my 85 since its fucked and off the road. Like civic radiator kit, wheels to use temporarily and steering wheel. Got some parts i need to buy but not for a month or so Panhard rod Suspension that isnt fucked Quadlights Washer motor and plug Brake flexi hoses all round Front brake pads GT exhaust, then modified Grille - after MOT Door cards - after MOT Will be quite good

Anything is possible, just a lot of work, plenty Toyota rear diffs can take that power, although you would probably have to change away from a live axle.
-
What the fuck has happened there?! Should look like this.
-
Seen your thread on driftworks, the 86 axle isnt the best for the bhp you want. Personally i think you should stick with this car, everyone has a r32 these days. How many people have a turbo'd 4agze kp60?!
-
The 4paw drivetrain has had a few people put 300 - 350bhp put through it before. However the half shafts are the weak link and can snap with repeated abuse. The syncros in the gearboxes are just as prone to failure as the turbo boxes. The rest of the drivetrain seems pretty solid, just make sure you grease the propshaft and have clean oil in the box, transfer box and rear diff. As for which setup, the short ratio in the 4paw gearbox gives them have savage acceleration so if you choose a fairly small turbo say TD04 or smaller that will give you a very driveable motor.

They come up every so often for sale, 500-600 area for a 6 or 7 point cage. So not a great deal cheaper then new. Also not all the ones that come up are sunroof friendly.
-
Some metal compound stuff might do the trick.
-
You can get bolt in ones, and sunroof specific. Cusco do them, i think Idworkz on here sell them.

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Was made by TMD back in the day, there were a couple of these floating about with very short runners. Guy used to be on here called Barretta owned this one i think? Probably sold on a couple times since. -
Yep should be fine to drive aslong as you stay under fuel cut boost level, the ECU can sort out the fueling so cant see there being a problem. Theiving a boost gauge lol brilliant
-
If getting one go for a new one, some of the HKS ones you can buy used are probably just as old as the standard one on the car. Think TD do an adjustable actuator. Im not 100% its gonna solve the hitting fuel cut issue but its a safer option than a FCD
-
3.1 is probably about right for around 1bar, better to be a bit on the richer side. I cant say anthing i melted a fuckin piston, but there was no FCDs involved in my case just old injectors!
-
FCD make the car run lean, when fitted you need a FPR and it to be set up on a dyno. Id just say clear. Also you might find you still get boost creep to fuel cut level even after an adjustable actuator is fitted and the boost wound down. Its just shitty CT9 turbo design, they dont regulate boost very well, internal gate penny is too small. You can try port it out if you still get trouble with it down the line.

There was an S and a Sport Selection. The Sport Selection was for the facelift in mid 1994. Over the base model they had these kinda things. Boot spoiler Blue Interior trim Electric mirrors Electric windows Front fogs Gt style steering wheel Probably a few other bits and bobs too. Although i doubt there is any difference in the drivetrain between EP85s, might be wrong though would be nice to find out
