Wishbone "crush tube" removal. **help needed**
mikey4410 replied to DaddyDutch's topic in Alignment & Alloys
yea fair play to ya ryan and i didnt mean any disrespect mate ,honest i didnt,im sure ure a hell of alot better with one than me but us odd users of them just dont always get it right and its costly mistake. when i messed up me 106 wishbone when polybushing it cost me like 50 quid for a new one.pissed me -
thats cool man,the manual ones are all i have gone for before because of cost but let me tell ya when u get an electronic one you see why not to bother with the mbc's . dont get me wrong the mbc's work ok ,but who wants just "ok" when u have an expensive and prized starlet that youve put alot of work into.u want something thats "bang on". i certainly wont ever use an mbc again.mine failed a couple of days ago,i think there poop.

both amazing cars but for looks and interior the gt is way ahead, (i dont like modern electric winders for windows etc as they fail sometimes)i am a old style person and hate having electric everything blah blah blah. saying that i have an ep91,very good car, just prefer gts

Wishbone "crush tube" removal. **help needed**
mikey4410 replied to DaddyDutch's topic in Alignment & Alloys
i used a angle grider on my old 106 rallye ones and its to easy to cut through to far and i certainly wouldnt recommend it. -
its 150 or 155.its a bit of a beast to tighten, and to undo for that matter. i had to use a electric impact gun to undo it which took like 4 or 5 twenty second blasts (with a 1000 quid snap on gun ) to do up a 2&half foot torque bar and got somebody to sit in car ,put in first gear and foot on brakes.was stilla pain and had to really work it hard to get the torque to "click". good luck.lol

metsl hacksaw it of at an angle dude, being careful not to cut into the wishbone, then hammer and chisel to pry of the weakend and cut "sleve". works for sure and as far as im aware one of the only ways.good luck -
My n/a sportif did 94mph in third for sure,i know thatas that was what i was doing on my trackday on a specific bit of the track time and time again.
