  1. What was the outcome haha.

I hate working on imprezas, had one that was a bucket.

All the forged parts he put in were fucked. The turbo didnt get any oil pressure so it was also fucked. Ended up being an extra £5000 or something stupid like that to get someone to do it properly like he should have done in the first place.

It actually makes me wanna cry

  2. Will no doubt be using a tuner at a later date for mapping, but gotta love building a car from the ground up knowing that YOU built it. Building engines however is a different matter, wouldn't recommend chucking together a forged lump out in the back garden haha. Leave that to the pros.

Yeah, i know a guy who learned the hard way trying to "save money" doing his own forge on an impreza sti.

  3. I bought my 2nd v in a very simlar way to shuan, its easy and faaaaar cheaper as like he says mark up is nuts! Or contact algys autos they have a fantastic service and will also go through auction systems so you can save even more as thats all the traders in japan do anyway is buy at auction add mark up and sell them online. The grading system is quite acurate and using an importer like algys autos means they will have contacts in the auction house so can provide even more pics to give a better idea of what you are bidding on. I highly recomend them mate.

They sound shit hot man! Just been on the website, £350+vat commission is pretty decent. Really honest way of doing things

  4. jm imports seem like the people to get in touch with. From what i understand about importing, the best place to get cars is the japanese auctions. They have teams of inspectors who check every aspect of the car and write up full reports on any damage, rust etc... then rate the cars from 1-5 depending on the overall condition.

  5. I've used them a good few times and everything always arrived pretty quickly. Once i had to delay my exhaust getting posted as i was away for a week, i just phoned up and it was done with no issues.

As someone else said... give them a ring. Im sure they will help resolve the issue

  7. You could try running a 12v feed from the battery and see if it cranks properly. Just a loose wire running outside the car.

Also clean the earth connection if it's traceable.

I'll give that a go as well. Im assuming its something im doing wrong, cant imagine it would just stop working. Im guessing this may be why the gt had a volt meter in it. I'll let u know how i get on

  8. If you didn't disconnect the battery there could be a chance you accidently shorted the wiring out. Check the fuel pump relay mate :)

Im getting 10.4v when im cranking it tho so its not been shorted. Im just going to try new crimping connections and see if it starts. If not im outta ideas

  9. I tried it both ways but was only using my multi tester cables so it probably wasnt the best connection's.

Im gonna jump out and get crimping connectors and try fitting it again and try hooking it upto the battery with a better connection. If it doesnt work then im gonna just fit the stock one back in for the time being.

Been reading quite a lot about walbros being sensitive to voltage. Kind of annoying if i end up having to run wires from the battery and a switch!
