Sparkythestarlet
Hi guys where do I fine and buy ITB's for the starlet, how much are they and how easy is it to fit them?
starletezy
There's a guy with triumph tt600 ITBS on his 5efte motor think there's a vid of it on YouTube you will have to get the car maped up after you just need to get an adaptor made up
Starlet__SR
Bogg brothers will do you a manifold to suit any throttle bodies you find. Then its a case of mapping.
Whitenoize
Dean @ Rw developments can make the inlets to suit the Tb,s
richardc9052
As above Triumph tt600 are the easiest to fit. i had a set on my 4efe. i just cut a standard mani and rounded the ports to fit then used silicone joiners. Bracket for the throttle body, small bit of tin, even a bit of a can of coke will do to fit the TPS to the itbs. Then you have to drill and tap the runners to fit vac points. Using a vac rail then connect map sensor and brake booster. You can also buy an idle control valve that sits in the old throttle body coolant lines and connect the vac side to the rail. Then map! Pikey009
Richard did you ever find out how much power they ran?
richardc9052
I didnt unfortunately as i did it all myself and it never saw a rolling road. It was enough to keep with 20v Ae111 levins anyway If i where to do it again i would be using a jap 100ps engine with a 4efte loom and ecu. The engine can rev to 7200 as standard so you dont have to worry about valve float etc and the turbo ecu has a fairly aggressive off boost map that works spectacularly with them
Pikey009
I'm just considering all options and quite the car being NA. I havnt got deep pockets but then I'm not looking for big power maybe 130ish really. What ever i end up doing will be on an emanage blue and all mapped properly
morgey
I didnt unfortunately as i did it all myself and it never saw a rolling road. It was enough to keep with 20v Ae111 levins anyway I sometimes wish i put my 20v in a ep80 or 70. The 91 is ok and quite refined but i could have got the weight down another 100kgs which would have made heaps of difference.
richardc9052
Yeah! especially if you got an ep80r 1.0 carb shell! 740kgs. Basically ep70 weight. Not sound proofing, lighter everything! Thats what i had and eventually went 4efe-t with. Its amazing what losing a few kgs can do!
Pikey009
Id love a 20v in mine, it's my fave swap for a 91 but it's finding a good one and I havnt got the means of knowledge to do the conversion :/
morgey
Damn that would be another 200kgs lighter! Thats basically the same difference between levin and 91... again lol.
richardc9052
Yeah! obviously it wouldnt be that light after i added the 4e (compared to the 1e), wiring, fuel pump, fuel lines, turbo etc but still a good start Edited April 4, 2016 by richardc9052
