Got my seat and Corolla manifold too, manifold won’t be staying red !

Stuck the rolla inlet in the blast cabinet and the parts washer then hit it with some high temp paint

Still waiting on some new gaskets from Toyota for the Corolla inlet but will hopefully be fitted next week along with the ultra racing c pillar bar that’s finally back in stock and on its way.

Been away on holiday for two weeks so not done anything on it until today decided to do the clutch drained the gear oil and it was awful !millers 75w90 nt+ will be going in it

I gave the box a small clean whilst it was out and fitted a new aisin clutch, old one didn’t look too worn even though the pedal felt high but the release bearing was a bit buggered so glad that’s been donebeforeafter

With the box being out it made access easier to do a couple of other jobs, fitted solid shifter bushes (also going to be fitting a hypersport short shift)old rubber bushesnew solid bushes

Also fitted the power flex rack d bushes I’ve had for a while too

New td low temp thermostat also fitted

All back together just need to fill gearbox with but ran out of time so will do it Monday and report back how it drivesand one with the seat fitted that’s all till next week, all comments welcome

Decided to nip in work this morning and fill the box up with oil, ran it up and the gearing feels loads better so smooth and precise

C pillar bar turned up today so got it fitted along with my belt, inlet gaskets also turned up too ( was like Christmas morning) so need to get the inlet done

Looking good dude is that's your harness was attached to the cpillar bar if so that's really not a good idea.

It’s just a mock up, it will be bolted with eyelets through the floor with support plates

bolting it down to the floor is not a good idea either, in a crash it will rip through the seat and crush you down. You need to add a bar behind the seat at shoulder height

It’s for time attack, what I’m using is perfectly safe and if the plate I’m using rips through the floor it would be the least of my problems. ideally I would mount it to a cage but it’s not having one and doesn’t need one to compete in the class it will be running in but thanks for the concern

Finally got round to fitting the Corolla inlet, just got brakes to fettle then it’s off to the Dyno for a laugh !!!

What a great build! Nice to see such attention being lavished on an NA bud! Dont know how I missed this thread before now!

let s know how the dyno goes as im keen to see if the corolla mani makes a difference.  If you can get hold of the support bracket then I would as the mani will crack eventually. If you cant find one then I have one that I made until I managed to get hold of a proper one

Not been on for a while and work on the sr has slowed a little but it will definitely be ready for this years tss. I’ve decided to change the bonnet and drivers wing due to damage from previous owners and change the bumpers as I don’t like the smoothed ones that are on it now

I knew the car had been involved in a rear end shunt at some point of its life as I noticed the boot floor was creased when I went to view the car so was prepared to fix it properly..... even though the back panel was £240 from Toyota 😱

All pulled out plenished and lined up with new back panel spot welded in 😀
