morgan
Nice one mate thanks.Do you know if the tuning developments Fuel pressure regulator is any good ? Looking to make 200bhp
5e colin
you dont need 1 for a 200bhp uprate the pump instead
Jamie_VF22
As above you wont need one if you only want 200 bhp no point just get a walbro 255 fuel pump
morgan
Hummm was told by the tuner it would be needed.
Ollieh17
If the tuner wants one, fit one
morgan
Anyone used the one tuning development sell ?
5e colin
Hummm was told by the tuner it would be needed. why ??? are you going the fcd/rrfpr route ??? if its getting mapped then its a waste of money because it wont be needed
morgan
Just going for a piggy back ecu.
Gainzy
Of course the tuner will want you to buy one it's good business, seen builds for many years running stock fpr 250 plus plus I run over 200 with no aftermarket fpr. It's all about the map
morgan
He said he will map it without one but said they die off pretty early, don't want to be spending money I don't have to
Ollieh17
I dont see anything wrong with having one. Lots of things are not really needed. They are 20 od years old now, plus fine tuning fuel pressure in future
5e colin
stock fpr is good for 1.2bar tdo4 ( more i cant comment )
triple j
No problem with the stock fpr its the stock fuel pump I would be worried about, as said above if the tuner wants one let him have it.
hopalong_neil
My stock fpr ran 1.4 bar on a td04 with no issues, stock pump too Edited June 29, 2016 by hopalong_neil
5e colin
jeeeez al these boys saying go for it because the incompetent tuner says so fuck it go els where just tel them to learn to map better
Ollieh17
Whats the advantage of keeping a stock one over a adjustable? Bearing in mind one is 20years old? Havent mentioned anything about deviating away from stock fuel pressure...
5e colin
what do you think because its 20 years old it works less ??? the answer is no she works just the same as a new 1 no more no less FACT !!!!! you ever hears of 1 failing ??? me no not of 1 on any car what so ever Edited June 29, 2016 by 5e colin
Ollieh17
To add, i had issues with rich running after fitting a walboro to my V. This cured after the work i did where nearly everything was changed including adding a fpr. Now i cant say it was specifically the fpr that cleared it. But, same issue with my GTti, aftermarket pump and an old standard fpr can't cope cause rich conditions. Fitted a sard and the problem has improved, still slight issue with the return pipe being a small diameter
Ollieh17
Fact incinuates you have evidence to prove?have evidence on a gauge of fuel pressure from new and 20 years down the line?
5e colin
Fact incinuates you have evidence to prove?have evidence on a gauge of fuel pressure from new and 20 years down the line? sure al your regs are still doing the same lads even on some of our glower boys 27 years later !!! my glower does exactly the same as my quad it either works perfect or feul be squirting aaal over and you be going no where attal exept calling fire brigade Edited June 29, 2016 by 5e colin
daniel_g
Its personal preference. There are a lot worse / less important / pointless parts to be spending money on.An adjustable FPR can be pretty key when setting up a wideband.
jamesglanza
I have had 2 cheap afpr fail but never a stock regulator. My advice would be to spend a little more money on a good reputable brand rather than Chinese non branded part. Aem, fuel lab, aeromotive, turbosmart, genuine sard stuff is all good. Stay away from the sytec imo.
