Purchased a fairly cheap intercooler, General questions

Recommended Posts

I have heard on forums and from people in the past that it is a good idea to flush a new intercooler if it is a cheap one to get rid on any machine residue or any metal filings from the intercooler to prevent anything going back into the engine and causing damage.

Can anyone give me some tips or confirm this to prevent any of this if this is the case new to the modding scene and learning a long the way all input will help.

Thanks josh

as colin suggested you could give it a blast with the air compressor and also close one end up...fill it with some petrol (and then close the other end)..give it a good shake and then drain the petrol..repeat as needed. you'd be surprised how much muck comes out sometimes :/
