K20 swap-Rx7 rotor swap

Recommended Posts

Id say go for it mate. I faffed about left right and center getting my 4age in my car, there was next to no info on any of it. Was just a learn by doing project.

Only advise i will give is over estimate the price on everything and dont set deadline as it will be a lot of work and a lot of waiting for custom parts.

Few options with hubs. Either leave stock and have shafts made to fit or machine them out to fit bigger bearings and a larger stub axle. I did the latter on my 4age conversion. But in hindsight id probably have opted for a pair of custom shafts fitted to stock starlet hubs.

Yup hubs and shafts is easy in one sense.

It's getting them sitting at a half reasonable angle that be the trick when your governed by a big lump of an engine/box and you've to get the bonnet closed but the sump off the ground

Its more of a long term project were i will be filtering money towards it slowly on the plus side I'm good friends with an Honda specialist so that's where most of my help will be coming from. my option is stock hubs with custom shafts would probably be the most easiest option clearance from the bonnet and ground will be the hard bit aswell but once the engine is lined up and mounts welded everything will come together

I don't think anyone will claim that starlets have a better engine/chassis than the Honda's. The reason we buy these cars is because they are different.

I for one would love to see more swapped engines in starlets, it's such a shame the gearbox is such a limitation on the 4e
