In Japan it is mandatory for the mileage to be taken during the road worthiness test (just like our mots here) and the auction house check up on this and mark the auction sheets as changed odometer, plus it would be easy to tell simply by the condition of the car. So I doubt that most are clocked

Not in the slightest bit true. Very stringent checks over in japan during the life of a car, history is all traceable too. You've got more chance of it happening over here.

same shit over here every nct the meter gets checked and wrote down on the nct sheet still they end up lower then 5 years ago ha ha

mileage indicated!.. the mileages from Japan are all traceable via Jevic so insist on this if buying a vehicle, or you can do it yourself with the chassis number and current advertised mileage just visit www.jevic.co.uk Also ask the dealer to see the original Japanese D-registration/export certificate from Japan as many of these also indicate mileage data.
