BurtEP82
As happy as I am with the progress, there are a couple gaskets missing in the engine kit I got. Thermostat housing to head and, throttle body to inlet. As before, If anyone can point me the direction of new ones then shout, and loudly!!
maerijn
its a strange colour but glad to see something different every once in a while! toyota PN for the oil pump seal is 90029-21007, so you might wanna get an original one while its still accessable. thermostat housing can be fitted with normal black sealant throttle body gasket is 22271-11030 Edited February 3, 2020 by maerijn
BurtEP82
Thanks mate, I shall search for the throttle gasket and fit thermostat with just sealant. I’m happy with the oil pump seal, it’s perfect size even with correct rotation. You’re right about the cambelt cover, just looked through engine bay pics and couldn’t see a red one. Nice to be a little different. Edited February 6, 2020 by BurtEP82

BurtEP82
Cheers Sam. We all like a bit of engine work, looking forward to seeing your 5E build come on!
BurtEP82
Got a bit of time to build up the ancillaries this weekend. During the week all parts were cleaned and sprayed, some in colour and others just lacquered. Most exciting part was the WEPR manifold, chuffed to bits to sneak a peek at what it will look like with the tial wastegate. Still debating with myself if welding the internal gate is the only way. May have a practice run on my old ct9.
maerijn
that looks clean 😄
BurtEP82
Thanks mate, let’s hope it stays that way when running!

glanzadude
Nice work on the Gt, I have to update my Gt build myself.
BurtEP82
Cheers Glanza dude. Get yours updated, been nearly a year! Would be cool to see some pictures too as the originals aren’t showing anymore 👍🏻
BurtEP82
Small update, progress has slowed due to home and work being manic. I know many do but I wasn’t feeling confident about having welds inside my turbo, neat welding isn’t a strong point of mine! Put something together to hold the wastegate shut without having to do so. Looks crude but feels solid. Now just need to sort turbo cooling pipes, down pipe and wastegate fully. Then engine can sit back in the car 🤗
SKINY
That will do lol my tf035 has a small tack weld holding the gate arm closed then the wepr decat has an Allen key on a captive but to also hold the gate shut, not sure its meant to tho its an old one

BurtEP82
Fairly small update but turbo kit is now fully together. After a few years of drooling over others wepr kits I’m chuffed to bits to see one on my engine! Now to find some time to get the engine back in the car.
glanzadude
Yea I am in the same boat, would love one off them kits

BurtEP82
Thanks to you wepr it does look awesome!! A lot of fiddling ahead to get it performing but all exciting stuff. Glanzadude, save the pennies. Took me some time to afford it but it’s a great feeling to have some of the best bolted on. Engine and gearbox are now in for me, a lot of basics ahead along side getting new inter cooler routing sorted. Progress will continue.

BurtEP82
Slow progress but I’m tired of looking at photos on the phone and not getting replies 😉. Wiring for engine is all plugged up for now, once running I would like to tidy it up a bit. Much needed new air filter (ramair) arrived and hot side Intercooler piping is coming along. Got a friend of a friend hopefully making good of a slight bodge. Just mocked up for now but soon will be final 🤞🏻. Rad and piping to come next, of course red piping to match the rest
