Sparky
Has anyone ever had a section 59 warning off of the police? well anyway once you have had a warning they will take your car off you the next time you do something wrong ad you get stopped. My luck has run out because I've been stopped about 5 times for this but now they have taken my car for the first time. The reason for this was because some prick was doing 15mph in front of me and i was in a rucsh to get to work so i over took him on double whites and there was a riot van coming the other way. they seen me and flashged me but i kep t going and there was a unmarked cop car waiting for me.Bastards, gotta pay £105 to get may car back tomorrow but what can i say, my fault for driving like twat.Oh yeah mite have to go to court bout it nad mite be done for dangerous driving which could be a ban!!!!! shelly_star
Ouch, never heard of it before, but i have never been stopped before, touch wood! But i know what you mean about slow drivers, they should be stopped for not doing the speed limits ....... grrrr...
Shaun
you get something like that when you go to cruise they take your number and send you a letter saying if you r seen at a other cruise they will take your car away
*Toymota*
it is a bit harsh but im afraid im going to be honest now. double white lines are there for a reason and that is to stop people overtaking. you took the risk of having your car taken when you decided to overtake on double whites and then not even stopping?? they may have let you off with a warning if you had at least stopped. my boyfriend has found that out many times. also,if you have been stopped for this 5 times i would of thought you had learned by your mistake.sorry if this post upsets anyone but that is how i see it.Em
Ryno
police also have powers to take your car and crush it/sell it in an auction.it's a fine line when your playing on the wrong side of the law!well for you it was two

scutch0
thats harsh mate. the way i see it, is that if people are not confident enough to do the speed limit, then they shouldnt be on the roads.i see what everyone is saying though.i had no idea that they could do that... i knew about auctioning and crushing, but had no idea they could take it away for one offence.ive been stopped many times... mainly for producers and numberplates... i got away with a warning for speeding at 3 am but was only 70 in a 60.Rich. starletboy
i have heard of this because i got pulled over in nottingham once the first time i ever got pulled over and said if they see me again they will take my car away and there reason for stopping me was i was driving erratically of a set of traffic lights which i did but i had an ambulance coming up behind me with its lights on so launched off the line to get out the way and in too the other lane tossers!!!! lobotomy
The cops tailed one of my bros pals, put on the lights and told him he was weaving - he just replied he was trying to avoid all the bloody potholes (not my tack in that situation - I'd be all yes sir, no sir) so they started telling him that he was speeding, but he knew for a fact that he wasn't so just kept telling them he was doing 30. They eventually realised he wasn't drunk, and knew he wasn't speeding so left it at that!
paulgtt
lot of people round my area have had section 59s, they are a bit harsh, a ticking off would be more appropriate half the time
Jap_Starlet
not good mate, but theres a lesson to be learned im not gonna say ive never sped or done silly over taking because i have, but theres a time and a place could you not of waited till you was on a stretch of road without the double whites ? as long as you didnt have to go over the speed limit the police wouldnt of had a reason to stop you,i mean slow drivers can be a pain thats why where ever i go i set of with plenty of time to spare hate rushing and hate being late
starletno1fan
some cop was talkin about section 59 wen i had the word "shit" engraved into the dirt on my boot! didnt kno what section 59 was so i just agreed n apologised
Sparky
Yes section 59 can be anything to do with driving. my mate had his car taken for not stopping at a stop sign and turning right in a no right turn!!! so just becareful peeps.Bit of bad news though, police havent authorised my car to be released so i gotta wait till monday which means the fine will be £140+!!!!Also had a letter through the post for dangerous driving and gotta go to the police station on wednesday to see if they are going to prosecute i think!!!
