I used to had a link to a malaysian car forum where some guy who works for rota posted wheels for sale.

They always had some pretty cool one off wheels for sale there, special colours and stuff.

speaking from my experience they are fine and i would buy another set. i dont mind if people hate them. but you give an impression to people that they will break in two if you gave a fat person a lift or if you jet washed them. which is just not true. yes there are pictures of them broke. but im sure if you smash any wheel hard enough it would break too.

and the stuff about them being a poor persons alternative is just daft and makes you look a bit of a cock to be honest.

yes JDM wheels are nice, i fuckin love them. yes we realise they are expensive. i have them on my car, so blatently i am so poor, i cnt afford to piss in a pot.

rota are cheaper, but certainly are not as cheap as hundreds out there. you dont know how that wheel broke, he could have slid into a curb at 60 and fuckin shatered it.. if you had jap wheels then obvisouly they would slice the curb in half or, the owner of the jap rims would get out first and cushion the curb with fat roles of cash that he/she has lying around.

ive got one for ya.. everyone on here who has rota rims.. who has had them explode or break or anything on them? i havnt...

Fishy - WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! Im currently on my fourth set of Rotas with no problems. Sold many many sets to customers over the last 4 years - no problems. Jay and Sam can testify to that, both of whom I mad add have had or still run Rotas - no problems! Ive spent 10k on my Ep91 in the last 18months if I wanted 'real' JDM rims I could have had them especially being as I can get Advan and Rays trade! Yes they are a nicer finish and almost certainly better made but slating Rota saying they are shite and having a dig at the people who have them is plain stupid, no offence.

And im sorry mike but i couldnt give a shite if you spent ten grand on a glanza.. Saying that makes you look like your just trying to length the size of your cock.. There is many people who have spent that and more. If you can get such rim's as you say you can, i can not honestly see why you would have rota's instead.. Could you please explain why as i just cant see why you would buy rota's instead. They are made so so cheaply with poor construction methods.. In that case you have totally taken what I have said the wrong way. My intention was not to boast about the amount I have spent. Im perfectly aware there are loads who have spent more etc etc. Im not conceited so that I beleive my car is anywhere near the bestest, fastest, most expensive. Im not like that. It was more aimed at your accusation that people who own Rotas are somehow paupers who can only dream of the day they get their very own Ripspeed gearknob or Max Power LED windscreen washer jets.

IMO saying that Rotas are shite with no personal experience makes you look like a cock and some kind of elitist looking down your nose at those who CHOOSE not to spend vast amounts on their wheels.

rite if you are so thick and cannot take on board the fact people have different tastes and are not all interested in spending large amounts on wheels, when other parts can be brought for the same budget, then keep your 2p for a rainy day.. i think quite a lot of people are getting sick and tired of this argument. this has been done so many times on so many forums. i love my rotas and they havnt had one problem. no corrosion ( chrome lip ) no bending, no rubbery spokes, no problems what so ever. im not selling them for jdm rims, never will. these are more than satisfactory in my eyes, and i have acutaly tried a pair.

" would lead me to believe that u have some sort of understanding as to the manufacturing methods of various alloy wheel companys FROM A ENGINEERING PERSPECTIVE. simply stating "they are made shite" is by no means conclusive evidence of said manufacturing, its just u typing those letters in that order on your keyboard. u are entitled to not like them as much as anyone else is entitled to like them, thats an opinion based on what u have read elsewhere, saying u dont like them as you BELIEVE they are made shite is not an opinion u have formed justly.

" then please be prepared to back such a statement up. have u OWNED both Rota AND Rays/Advans that u can make a direct comparison urself? have u conducted any form of research from an engineering point of view based on strengths and weaknesses of various alloy metals and the inherent flaws of various methods of manufacturing??

u say that if they hit a kerb they will disinterate because they are poorly made, but that a Jap wheel will not. have u tested this to see if it is infact TRUE? or is it again an ignorantly formed 'opinion'? what would u say of Italian wheels then?? would u say if i hit a kerb in a Momo the wheel would break as its not jap? i hit a kerb in a 5 spoke speedline and the wheel was fine, the kerb fractured. So, i HAVE tested a Speedline, i CAN make such a statement. wheels are not designed to stand up to kerbs? where would the crumple zone be? transfered to the occupants is where the force of impact would end up. At the end of the day, if u expose an item to a force that it was not designed to be exposed to then of course it will distort in some form. Ronaldo's 599 Ferrari disintegrated when it hit a wall and one wheel ended up 200m up the road, you cant possibly tell me that that therefore means that the wishbone and front suspension of the car was made shit because it failed can u?? its the same bloody thing simply extrapolated up. Ferraris aren't designed to hit walls, when they do they fail, wheels arent designed to hit concrete, when they do the concrete wins.

If u can provide some scientific experiment based HARD EVIDENCE based on a hypothesis and null-hypothesis that show me that Rota's are inherenetly LESS STRONG and thereby more danagerous than a JDM wheel then i will believe everything u have stated about Rotas with no question. simply making a statement based on an opinion u have formed based on internet chat and biased images of broken rotas proves nothing. why hasnt anyone shown us images of rotas that have stood strong after an accident?? because that would lend credence to the opposing argument. Biased images of broken rotas that contain NO information on the circumstances of their failure are proof of nothing.
