Nanglebadger
happens to the best of us buddy! been stopped 4 times now, only got away with it twice.remember, your probation lasts for TWO years, not when your R plates come off and you're only allowed 6 points in your probation...at least thats how it is over here man.chin up! happens to us all!Phil. Starlet__SR
It's the same I think Phil, first two years you're allowed no more than 6 points, otherwise it's time to take the old L plates out, I had an incident where I nearly got 4 point but challenged it as I wasn't doing the speed they said.Damien

Craig_N
Do you guys not get a choice to do a speed learning lesson instead of points because i dont know if they are just testing this in manchester, because if you get caught speeding and i think its up to 10mph more than speed limit then you can go on the speed learning lesson and its just like a theory test but you CAN'T fail. The course does cost £60 but no points my manager at work went to the course and it was 3 1/2 hours long but its worth it.Do any other people get this choice.Craig
Galliano
Bet all those cops following you closely are laughing at you now
redz11
im surprised they haven't given you the option to take speed awareness course? thats abit crap mate, stick to the limits thesedays not worth the fine/points and more insurance payments :/
Smithy_dub
Mobile speed camera, there is roadworks and the limit has been dropped to 40 when it was 50.£60 and 3 points As far as i was aware you cant get prosecuted for breaking a temporary speed limit..... Takes a few hours and all you do is watch videos and eat biscuits.
Galliano
Paul.. I want to just do that course for the sake of it now. Sounds like its win. Do you get a cup of tea to dip the biscuits in?
LukeSR
Haven't been given the chance to go to a speed awareness course which i was hoping When i send the letter back they will decide whether to prosecute me or not (take me to court and your just wasting time to be honest). Smithy_dub
If nothing's been decided yet mate then look into what i said..Search the net and ask some people in the know..Im sure you cant get points for breaking a TEMPORARY speed limit, whilst still being under the NORMAL speed limit..Gotta be worth a shot, no? Steve GT
nah the speed awereness courses are for poeple on the 12 point liscense scheme i believe not the 6 point newbie drivers. obviously because its seen that as lukes only just passed his test hes still fresh from the theory and practical driving test so he should know everything on the awereness tests lol its more a refresher corse for people been caught speeding who have had their liscence a few years i believe lol
paulgtt
I had my licence just over a year when I did it. Cop asked how long Id be driving and he said "obviously you don't want points then?" then he said I could take the course if I wanted too. He seemed quite interested in the Starlet too!!And yes you do get tea for dunking biscuits
scot-ish
ive got the speed awareness for the 4th december, got done for 34 in 30.there are a few things about the course, catchment is different for different reason, but i know you wouldnt get on it for the 41 in a 30 which is qouted above, i think 38 is the max, but there are different regulations for different regions, 39 was the limit in northumbriaEDIT- look here http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?autoco...ticle&id=
