happens to the best of us buddy! been stopped 4 times now, only got away with it twice.

remember, your probation lasts for TWO years, not when your R plates come off and you're only allowed 6 points in your probation...at least thats how it is over here man.

chin up! happens to us all!

I'm not overly bothered, its my own fault and i know to stick to speed limits. This is my lesson learn't.

Anyway, COD6 is installing so that will take me mind of it LOL.

Do you guys not get a choice to do a speed learning lesson instead of points because i dont know if they are just testing this in manchester, because if you get caught speeding and i think its up to 10mph more than speed limit then you can go on the speed learning lesson and its just like a theory test but you CAN'T fail. The course does cost £60 but no points my manager at work went to the course and it was 3 1/2 hours long but its worth it.

Do any other people get this choice.

I did the speed awareness course over 4 years ago, got caught doing 41 in a 30 or something similar, that was by a cop with a radar gun and then he pulled me in and gave me the option of points or the course.

Takes a few hours and all you do is watch videos and eat biscuits.

Haven't been given the chance to go to a speed awareness course which i was hoping :p

When i send the letter back they will decide whether to prosecute me or not (take me to court and your just wasting time to be honest).

If nothing's been decided yet mate then look into what i said..

Search the net and ask some people in the know..

Im sure you cant get points for breaking a TEMPORARY speed limit, whilst still being under the NORMAL speed limit..

Gotta be worth a shot, no?

nah the speed awereness courses are for poeple on the 12 point liscense scheme i believe not the 6 point newbie drivers. obviously because its seen that as lukes only just passed his test hes still fresh from the theory and practical driving test so he should know everything on the awereness tests lol its more a refresher corse for people been caught speeding who have had their liscence a few years i believe lol

I had my licence just over a year when I did it. Cop asked how long Id be driving and he said "obviously you don't want points then?" then he said I could take the course if I wanted too. He seemed quite interested in the Starlet too!!

And yes you do get tea for dunking biscuits :p

ive got the speed awareness for the 4th december, got done for 34 in 30.

there are a few things about the course, catchment is different for different reason, but i know you wouldnt get on it for the 41 in a 30 which is qouted above, i think 38 is the max, but there are different regulations for different regions, 39 was the limit in northumbria

EDIT- look here http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?autoco...ticle&id=34

That's wrong my mate did one of these courses but he was only a few mph over the limit. And he's been driving less than 2 years.

if you get points for speeding, you will get a letter to send a cheque, of the fine amount in, write the check out for it but 1 pound over.

So if its £60 fine send a cheque for £61.00 they cant give you your points untill they have given you your one pound back!!

and they dont.
