shaneyb
Can I just buy V disks and pads and slap them onto my non abs N/A uk spec? Or do I need to change the calipers aswell?
Amjad
I think the calipers are a little bigger on the V bro, not 100% sure, but someone will confirm soon enough
DavidAshton
Yeah 100% need V calipers. V disks are bigger than n/a so n/a calipers dont accept them. CRAIG-SR did the swap and was pleased with the results.
shaneyb
Thank you lads. This will go on my to do list. Can anyone recommend disks and pads? Nothing 2 pricey as my N/A is not going to set the world alight .
LukeSR
N/A brakes are made of fucking cheese !
DavidAshton
If your going to do the glanza conversion i cant fault thesehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GLANZA-TURBO-GROOVED...=item2a03398be5
shaneyb
I like the look of those! Doesn't say if they are abs or non abs fitment though?
Russleh
arent the sr brakes the same as the brakes from a v. i know the sportif has tiny tiny calipers on it though
DavidAshton
Dont think it makes a difference, the abs system is not on the disk as far as im aware SR brakes are not the same as a V, CRAIG-SR tried to fit them onto SR calipers with no sucess.
shaneyb
One more question. Will braided brake lines made for a V fit?
DavidAshton
I believe so, ill double check with Craig as he fitted braded lines to his SR / Glanza front brakes. I think you end up with the rears too which cant be fitted though.
Russleh
hmm sure mine has sr brakes according to the build thread when greame changed the brakes and i just fitted the td brake kit with no issues.
CRAIG-SR
You will need glanza calipers on and the braided line will fit too. I have Do-Luck lines and it said they are for a ep91. I couldnt get the SR caliper over my grooved disc.
Russleh
hmm i checked streetracer_starlets old build thread for my white car and it was sr brakes that were on it but they were red so i dunno if at somepoint they were changed again for the ones off a v. all i know is i fitted the discs with no probs. shaneyb
Cheers lads.Craig - Hows the braking power? Big improvement? Do you have abs?David - I can fit the rear lines if I do an axle conversion right?
Guest Enzo
dependant on what year of starlet you have, the ep91 have the same sized braking setup at the front as the glanza v.some early sportifs had the smaller braking setup.
Nanglebadger
Mine's a 1998 and came with the same brakes as the Vs!Phil.
Asad
Im guessing my 96 P reg CD model has the smaller variant of brakes??
shaneyb
Mines a 98. If V brakes fit on mine then im going to be one happy man! That means braided hoses will fit straight on aswell?Mine's a 1998 and came with the same brakes as the Vs!Phil.Abs or non Abs?

shaneyb
Cheers bud. Just realised Craigs n/a is a T reg so is newer then both of ours and glanza disks did not fit. hmmm.
