Quick Question

Hey guys,

Just a quick question.

My cars been misfiring today for some reason, opened the oil cap and it looks creamy but I thought this may be because she has been parked up for over 2 months. Anyway, I had the TMIC off and was inspecting the leads etc and then a puff of smoke got thrown out of the inlet/throttle body. What does this indicate?

Im not a 100% sure but it sounds like the head gasket has gone if its creamy in the oil cap that means water its geting mixed in with the oil

Yeah I know that, just wanting to know what the puff of smoke from the inlet means.

TMIC indicates Turbo Micky.

And my first thoughts, being the man I am, is that its fed up with life and taken up smoking.

What colour was the smoke? I'm guessing you opened the throttle and it came out yes?

Not to worry lads, I've done a compression test on it and got 160 across all four. Turned out to be a dodgy plug lead.

The creamy stuff is just moisture, don't worry, only worry when you find it on the dipstick, glad it was nothing serious.

Yeah thank god, I was pretty gutted when I thought it was damaged after all the hard work I've put in to her recently! Drives perfectly too, touch wood!

Lol, been there before matey, I saw the same gungey stuff on my corsa after I got it out of hibernation, felt the biggest lump in my throat, was happy to find out it was just condensation, fucker still span a shell though:(

yeah i got that feeling when my oil turned to goo in the glanza but i want as lucky as u guys its currently lying in bits in greames(streetracer_starlet) driveway lol
