An 18k Rs Turbo Restoration.

last year my dad bought this 18K, 1 owner series one rs turbo. the car had been off the road since 1988 and stored badly so had some surface rust.

since then the car has been stripped down for a full restoration

car is now back home and painted :thumbsup:

so that's how the car stands now, awaiting everything to go back in :thumbsup:

love these cars.

i grew up around classic fords mk1 rs2000 and mk2 rs2000 etc etc i actually have a 1.6 capri to restore myself and really make you apretiate a car when you work on this sort of stuff

grew up with mk2's and 3's aswell, he always had escorts then moved onto golfs and jap cars. Now hes gone back and bought this as a project and weekend toy once its done which i cannot wait for!

will update progress as it happens but it will probably be slow from now. :thumbsup:

I'm will own an old Escort one day, So cheap to get parts for and make for an Awesome project :thumbsup:

My Boss had a Series 2 Escort RS, He rolled it at a track day so we are rebuilding his new one up completely from scratch :thumbsup:

Will keep an eye on this thread should be pretty cool

Nice, always been a fan of older escorts.

Whats you're dad planning of doing power wise?

hes trying to get the car totally original as it left the factory so engine will be standard aswell. Did try getting the car running once we got it home but had no luck, would only turn over.

this is awesome, its gona be mint when finished, i love S1's ive been helping my mate restore his S1, soo much rust haha

cheers bud, best thing about getting such low miles was no rust underneath. :)

White ones are the best :)

they are all white :D 1 or 2 black and red but all s1's are white. lol

stunning mate, my brother has an xr3i mk3 in white but needs all the floor pans done and the sills redone, the battery tray and the boot lol and hes not long bought a mk3 ghia 3dr in white done 89k and very solid just a few little bits to sort got twin 40 weprs goin on it very soon

Thanks for all the positive comments, forgot i had posted this on here. :lol: So thought i best update this as to how its standing today, been a slow but steady progress. Anyways the pics..

Still a few things to go on but as you can see. We cannot wait to get this running and on the road now! :(
