StarletMad
Its like anything though bud when you start changing an OEM System with Tolerences these Tolerences can be broken and Shit like this happens
Johnboy GT
The more a see stuff like this the more these cars are unreliable, problems after problemsI think IMO that things like these are expected from tuning cars. Every car is unreliable at some point, i agree though, best not to fret about it.Shrug off and get her back on the road bud ;)
MARC MOSS
I had this happen five years ago when I bought my gt, forged tdo4 1.5bar 1000 miles later turbo started smokin 500 miles after that the crank ovaled and it destroyed a shell! it's been sat in the garage ever since waitin for it's rebuild!!I was so pissed I can't believe how calm u are dude!Fair play

StarletMad
Not Alot to say really apart from whoever built it did it with there eyes shut!VVT was NOT set correctly.Theres no reason for piston rings to go unless its been put together poorly I think people forget that when putting Gudgeon pins it its not a case of just pushing these ones in the heat pressed in!!My Mechanic reckons they could have weakened the piston when putting the pins in.Sold to me as only done 4,000 miles Since Rebuild Wiseco Pistons and SCAT Rods etc etc.....Fairplay the Rods are Gleaming and look the real deal but Fuck Me the pistons are Bolloxed lolPistons appear to be an oval Shape and the movement is unbelievable... if pushed to one side i guess youve got about 2-3mm gapAlso You should see the state of the Main Bottom Pulley where its just been beaten off with a hammer befor only half of the inner edge remains!Just wish people would be honest when selling stuff. ANNOYING!Bolts missing here there and everywhere one off the top engine mount one off the alternator and 3 off the plate that goes around the gearbox..... SHODDDDY!Anyyywhooooo....... Here it stands now:Gonna give it a massive clean up and get the whole lot sent off see if i can get it Sorted at a Specialist See what i can do tbh thats all i can do for now.May just have to buy a second hand engine and make one good out of the bits. StarletMad
Soorry bud yeah Variable Valve TimingNo Point Grieving just un insure the little beast and save some pennies lol Make it A Special car this time round do it all properly and proffesionally and save myself the hassle time and money in the future! It makes sense. If you look at the cams one of them has a thinner "Sprocket" next to it The Thinner plate should push up against the thicker one and run in sync.Mine Wasnt
Russleh
thot u ment that. yeh you on about the cam gear tentioner. surely that wouldnt cause that damage. thats mainly there to take up any slack in the gears meshing together so its not noisy. yeh agreed on the doing it properly next time round. thats what im doin lol. blew my piston rings twice before
StarletMad
Took my 3 and a half pistons out today....After abit of De-Greasing and on closer inspection the 1,2 and 3 Pistons have hairline cracks in exactly the same place as the number 4 one has broken up if that makes sense.Id put this down to When the gudgeon pins were put in wouldnt you?? StarletMad
Cheers guys.Wheels Black, white or Graphite grey??
Wardy
i would say grey would look odd on a black car IMO, white are a bitch to keep clean (trust me lol) and black may make the car too dark? What about something leary like Green or Orange?
