tez
ive decided to run the standard actuator so will be standard boost till i can afford a boost controller. After all i do want a reliable car!Had a very expensive month!
200bhp starlet
cars looking good mate keep it up
Gainzy
is there much difference when you swapped with the actuator? Its the only thing left on my list, £50 for a stiffer spring......
tez
havent drove the car since fitting the standard actuator back. With the hks actuator, the spring is alot stiffer!but in my opinion, i carnt control the boost enough so hense going back to standard until i can get myself a boost controller which will help me set it up correctly without overboosting too much lolThe car interior is all back together now, speedo cable back in(hopefully be fine)dash back together.give the car a clean tomorrow touchwood if weather stays good! Gainzy
i see, am pretty much running down the same path you are, av got a gizzmo boost controller, awaiting my plug and play its just my mate said i would be wasting money as the actuator won't make much difference, i dunno
monsen
lookin good matey
WallaceGlanza
The stock actuator will be worse at holding boost than the HKS, you just need to get it set right - do it in 4th gear not 1st.When you fit the new collars to the coilovers copper grease the whole thread it will help protect them. tez
Update on this!Got insured, tax all legal other week.Car is doing well!(touchwood) lolHad a few hiccups.Had a water leak in which put coolant all over my engine lol(orange coolant ftl)part from that good!Really good! Fun to drive. But ive noticed a few things.Firstly motorway driving. Its horrible.sitting at 60/70 i only need to touch the pedal(a MM) and it wants to come on boostguessing i should stick my EFI pipe back on if i wanted to do more motorway?Due to my work i have to do the lovely drive to manchester now and then(once a month) The interior will be going back in! and a new backbox rubber as mine is snapped!(weird)What sort of mileage you lot getting to a tank? Also seem to always here my BOV wooshing on the motorway too!Cheers

Russleh
I've totally missed this build until now lol going well so far mate.wouldnt worry about the BOV as i think its just the baileys ones. they aint the best and just hiss at you alot lol. i used to get like 300 miles to a tank with 200bhp untill something went wrong and i saw it drop to about 240 ish before eventually dying on me haha Russell
tez
thanks lads!yea the spring on the baileys is pants!only need slight hand on the throttle cable and can see the spring in and out! its probably leaking to be honest!Id be happy with 250/300! Had a full polish & clay other day.MINT! need to get some pics up!Plans for tomorrow.1) fit interior back in2) remove coilovers and deflectors(selling them) another thing on the wind deflectors( they dont let hardly any air in the car, so im windows down, literally on fire when driving.General Clean over engine bay! due to the coolant Also had issues with the fog lights coming on with full beam!mid job(got that sorted)Dont want to be one of them twats with his fogs on, when it isnt foggy!also fixed the sideskirt as was hanging off(not perfect, but better)
