Nanglebadger Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 2 weeks ago i replaced the factory bulbs in the cluster with LED bulbs. 10 mins later the two on the right (as u look at the cluster from the front) blew. The replacements arrived yesterday but when i fitted them they didnt work at all, nor did the factory bulbs when i tried puttin them back in!! Evrything else is fine, as are the 2 LED bulbs on the left. Is it a fuse?? If so, any idea which one and where it is?? Or have i fried half the board and require a new cluster??Phil. Quote
Nanglebadger Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Aye, the bulbs behind the speedo and oil temp.Phil. Quote

adrenalinmotorsports Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 hey mate, are you able to get a circuit tester onto the wires for the lights coming out of the back of the cluster (when the acc. is on), and then you will be able to tell whether or not it is the cluster or not...i think that will work give it a go anyways and post your results up here! scutch0 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 shite. thats bad. ive had leds in mine for 2 years and have only had the blow every now an then!!!if you need a new cluster i have one (with the white dials on) its for a uk spec sportif i think... it has 12,000 miles on it. it didnt work in my car because mines a australian spec car. its yours if you want it bud?Rich. Nanglebadger Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 See, the bulbs should have been fine, Scutch has similar ones in his (i think...) and the other 2 are workin fine. Might give the circuit tester a go, if not its new cluster time!!!! SHAT!!!! Thanks.Phil. Quote
lobotomy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Was gonna ask if you had them in the right way round. But noticed you said they were working at one point. Quote
scutch0 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 yeah, i have the same kind of ones in my cluster.Rich. Quote
Nanglebadger Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Theres no positive and negative sure, it shouldnt matter what way they're in surely!!!!Looks lieka new cluster then!!!!Phil. Quote
lobotomy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 LED's are diodes, they only work one way. My bro was changing his for LED's and he put a couple in the wrong way and they never worked.Just thought it was a simple suggestion that you might have overlooked mate. Quote
