catch can question ?

Recommended Posts

Well my catch can has no breather on top so Im guessing it goes top right on rocker cover to one port on the can then from the other port on the can to the manifold but do i need to gut my pcv valve ?

My catch can goes one tube to rocker. The other points to the ground outside through engine bay, is that right?

as far as Im aware this is right also if you wanna set it up this way but i think it will work much better the way i wanna do it

You will need to gut the pcv yes and move it so it is inline before the catch can.

The ideal setup imo is using two sealed catch cans, one as above in between inlet mani and the breather with the pcv (with pcv moved to inbetween catch can and inlet mani). The other can goes between the other breather and the turbo inlet with no valves as this one is meant to be permanantly breathing/open as in the standard setup.

This setup can be done with one three port catch can and a system of valves:

I say this setup is the best as it is legal - doesn't put any oil on the ground and breathes properly as the standard set up does, it also pulls a vacuum on idle to keep the system clean, if the hose just goes under the car it may pull vapours out at speed but not when sat still.
