Beastmode panda Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Looks sick jakey. I've always wondered.... What is the advantage, or why do people seam weld? Quote
AdamB Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I've always wondered.... What is the advantage, or why do people seam weld? Stiffer chassis and stops it from flexing, especially where the suspension strut meets the car body Looking good Jake, need to start putting the car back together Quote
turbo Grant Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 seriously behind Jake! but i have been doing mine for 2 years now lol Quote

garrygt Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Ahright i thought ir it was a factory colour...but thinking now it was only the mk1 that came in blue out the factory. Whats your plans engine wise? Quote
nest Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Yeah man, engine wise quite alot, ill start building it in a few weeks just waiting for a few more bits to arrive and it's just off being skimmed spec is at the moment Fully balanced bottom end Acl racing bearingsPauter I beam rodsWisco pistons Wisco piston rings0.6mm head gasketArp head boltsFull port + polishZisco uprated valve springs Zisco uprated oil stem sealsCustom cam cover with an10 breathersAlly Light weight pullys inc adjustable cam pully Think that's about it at the moment might throw some cams in there aswell if I can get hold off some Quote
garrygt Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Much and such the same as me but im using wossner pistons and scat rods. I also plan to run a 0.6 hg but some say it will limit the boost i can run. Will wait and see Quote
nest Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Haha, I have reason for the 0.6mm hg all will be revealed soon ;) Quote
AdamB Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Looking good pal! Moving on now. Nothing wrong with running a 0.6mm gasket, if you got dished pistons it will only bring the CR back upto near standard anyway. All depends on the ecu you use really. Quote
nest Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 Thanks man, small update refurebed my alloys today still waiting for the gazebo to arrive so we can start the cage, here's a quick pic off the alloys More soon Quote
