ali_legend
Hi guys. Was just wondering is it dangerous to run 15mm normal spacers? Not hubcentric ones just the normal ones? If yes what size can you go upto safely? Thanks
LukeSR
If you put 15mm on, make sure you have enough thread for the nuts to go on. Probably have to extend them.
WallaceGlanza
You will need longer studs. The spacers need to be centred on the hub (which is what hubcentric means but everyone seems to think of hubcentric ones as being the ones with studs built in) otherwise they will be out of balance and will cause a vibration like an out of balance wheel. However the expensive hubcentric ones are not needed, if the spacers have the right bore all you'll need are longer studs (for spacers of more than 10mm) or you could even get spacers with a larger bore and use spigot rings to centre them. ali_legend
Nice one for that matey. I'm going 13mm on the front and 15mm on the rears so the front should be ok withought longer studs?
metalmickey0
Wont that put extra stress on your bearings? Had thought of some myself but the bearing thing puts me off

ilghap
Sorry to dig up an old topic. Will you wear out the bearing If you use hubcentric ones? Or does all spacers cause the bearing to wear down quicker?
zebedee
All spacers will load the bearing more chi as your moving the wheel further out from the bearing. what most people don't realise is it's just the same as running low offset wheels that the cars are not designed to come with. Saying that Toyota will have over spec'd the bearings like they do with most stuff so as long as your only going 10-25mm i would think you would be fine.
ilghap
Ah I see. Just looking into it at the moment. I will prob be looking to get some after I get the car lowered anyway (not my GT by the way) Will have to order some lowering kit from japan.
