Not sure why i'm asking this now, but hey.

After writing off my sr and spending the past 2 months almost, behind the wheel of my shitty lupo, things just aren't the same anymore.

The lupo is so boring that i refuse to spend a penny on it, I can't even be arsed to service it, but november i'll have 2 years no claims behind my back, and well there's only one route.

Unfortunately, my route involves me wanting to change universities after spending an awful foundation year at solent, meaning I want to start again in first year and for good. Keeping a car for the year, also made things boring, being able to constantly go home etc.

However, this does give me an opportunity, to give up driving till next summer and save for my return, somehow B)

The only thing is, every single one I see encourages a problem

How much should I be paying for a relatively standard model and what problems to someone who doesn't know they're way around a turbo should I be looking out for? and can you drive them as a daily without something going wrong as i'm not gonna be able to afford to chuck loads of money at one being a student and all?

Much Love

Billy

No different really to checking any other car mate check all the usual points and I used mine as a daily for years doing like 400 mile a week and never had an issue just regularly servicing it

Ive recently sold my S and moved up to a GT Turbo, Which is now my daily drive to work, Im doing 74 miles a day, I check the oil every other day and warm the car up before driving off and allow it to warm down when ive returned back. Just gotta keep an eye on everything and make sure you dont bounce it off the redline at every junction.. plus the engine is relitively new! I know the whole life of this engine so i know its a gem! :D

Cruising at 60-65mph im getting around 48mpg also, so not really too bad considering I was getting 55mpg from the glanza S :)

Mine was stock apart from exhaust and I payed £1200. Needed a few little bits and bobs doing but nothing major at all. Been a dream maintainence wise and parts are cheap and there's plenty breAking. I'm at uni, just finished my 3rd year of a 4 year physics degree :)

I drove my old black GT for 3 years as a daily. And I used to rack up the miles, 400 miles non stop some times. They are fine till you start winding up the boost. My rod made a leap for freedom haha

do it! keep on here and read up as much as you can. you will pick up pretty much everything you need to know about em thats what i done.

plus will be a damnsight more fun than a lupo.

my mate has a 100hp lupo tho with straight through exhaust stock suspension etc and i thought it was alright. nothing special but would give my old n/a a run for its money i thought.

gt's can be picked up for silly money now tho. just do it bud you wont regret it.

hating this lupo so much, such a bore to drive and my sr felt a lot more fun despite the -25bhp, i just needed a daily asap and once you've experienced the 4efe, there's nothing more to it, it's just another sr which every dickhead asks 'is it a turbo?'

but thanks a lot everyone, you've made me feel confident in buying one, just need a way of bringing some more money in and getting myself out of this student overdraft :(
