Picked up my new starlet a few weeks ago, a 99 Glanza v so I may aswel start my build thread now, I brought it from a guy in Bolton who'd imported it himself but didn't really use it. It was standard apart from the alloys and a greddy turbo timer :)

First thing I did was lower it because it looked stupidly high so I fitted some tein 57mm lowering springs which gave me about 40mm drop

I drove it like that for a week or so and decided I didn't like the wheels I couldn't decide wether to sell them or not so I took them off the other day and sprayed them white for now, look better imo

Also fitted a hks ssqv with the help of Dean Rogers (RW developments) who welded a larger diameter piece of tubing onto my so that it would fit without a reducer hose

The cars paintwork had the usual hazy finish so I tried some t cut on the rear bumper and it came up nice

I managed to get the whole car done and waxed aswel today I'm nackered but it was worth it it looks ten times better :)

I also fitted an air filter, decat pipe, a hks actuator and a boost gauge. I set it to 0.8 bar but with the cold weather it did fuel cut and the eml came on so I've set it slightly lower and it's ok now and pulls harder than it did :)

Thanks for the good comments :) the guy I brought it off told me it was made late 99 so was one of the last ones made but I had no idea when they stopped making them tbh so just took his word for it

Thanks mate, plans are a set of dc coilovers which a mate is holding onto for me and some different alloys (anyone want to swap?) and I want to td04 it later on when I can afford to have it set up properly but for the near future it's a 2.5" system with no boxes and a blitz nurspec backbox, and as soon as funds allow I definitely want a front mount. It's a slow process ain't it I'm sure we all have big shopping lists :)

Haha fair play, I'm finding this site really helpful for information so I'll keep looking into it over the winter but yeah I love these cars! I had an old gt a few years back but it was a bad example really a bit of a dog... good laugh tho

Really smart looking V mate, you don't see many '99 spec ones about.

Any pics of your old GT ?

Thanks mate I don't have any unfortunately but dean off here has which I've asked him for several times get on it dean! I did it matte black with black wheels and gloss black rising sun on the bonnet lol looked stealthy as fook at night

Looks absolutely mint mate. Them alloys look much better now, looked like a halfords specials in the first pic

Thanks mate I thought the same about the wheels lol

Just a quick update I went and had the wheels aligned today today after noticing the tyres wearing on the outside edge, the one wheel was out by 7 degrees!

Also gave the wheels a good clean

Hopefully I'll be sorting my 2.5" system this weekend pics to follow

Took the car up to RWDevelopments yesterday to get my exhaust sorted out and I've gotta say I'm really pleased with it I can't speak highly enough of Dean hes sound bloke and the quality of his work is second to none.

This is how it looked with the standard system

Which we removed from the decat back

Dean then set about fabricating the new system from the decat pipe, I chose to have it 2.5" stainless with no boxes and a nurspec backbox :)

Comparison of the new and old system

Then he removed the old end from the backbox and welded a new flange on

Once it was made up it was all removed and welded up properly, here's how the new box looks I'll get a better pic tomorrow when it's light

When I first fired it up I was pleased because its not stupidly loud and it's very deep and growls, driving home from tamworth to wolverhampton I opened it up and it sounds very agressive and bangs and flames :)

It's fuel cutting high up in the rev range on full acceleration now but the weather isn't helping...

I'll upload a video tomorrow of the sound :)

I've also fitted a filter

And a hks ssqv

I have to stick a picture of deans car up because I love it lol
