They might be 9:1 in a honda but thats going off of all there combustion chamber designs, also the height of the piston is a main factor ie center of wrist pin to piston top will differ between manufactures. This will be what dictates the compression ratio!

I supose the stroke might matter aswel as you will need clearance on the skirt of the pistons...

But if they are the same then give it a go be experimental lol

You don't need to change the pistons you can increase compression by skimming the block/head. The paseo pistons are actually lower compression to the starlet ones so if you put starlet pistons in a 5e you will get higher compression.

@lukep its about lowering the compression and running lots of psi. @morgey yea the vitara piston seen to handle a fair amount of psi some people down here take the standard gt pistons and shave them to run more boost

You never mentioned running boost you were just talking about 4e and compression ratio. :p
