Skimmy237
There illegal bro
Matt1878
There illegal broReally?... Is this because of the new laws with regards to cars fitting non factory HID kits now? It's just, the maximum legal brightness for a road car is 8000K (BMW blue/white tint) ... Anything over was classed as illegal.... As I want 12000K which is a purple tintMatt. Nanglebadger
^^^i would imagine so dude yes. that new legislation says something but auto adjusting/cleaning for HIDs.Phil.
Skimmy237
It needs light scooshers and auto levelling to be legal man
Matt1878
A whole load of bull shit laws again then yeah lol... I'm going to have no luck with fitting legal 12000K lights then ..Aston Martins still use 12000K bulbs on the DB... Even though they are classed as illegal! ... Might be a way around it .., there always is!

Lawless
So does that basically mean any his kit I buy is gonna be illegal
Matt1878
I'll be fitting them anyway lol... I love the purple tint lol
Nanglebadger
i think the rule of thumb is that, if they aren't fitted from factory (and therefore self cleaning/levelling) then yes, they wont pass MOT.Phil.
Starlet SR
I asked a fella in the mot center recently about them.He said if you put headlight washers in and tidy up all the wiring away they pass mot. But don't know how a starlet would look with headlight washers lol But every mot centre is different :S
daniel_g
Its mainly the beam pattern they fail on, they are always out of alignment and the beam is scattered all over the place. Also starlet headlamps tend to go quite misty over time, this doesn't help either.
StuDoc 72
If u notice any car with legal hids have a self contained eyeball style section for them to direct the beam whereas starlets have open headlights with rear reflector plate that doesnt contain the beam correctly.Saying that ive had mine fitted for 3or 4 years with no issues from the law but its just your luck tbh. scutch0
Meh, it's always been 'law' for hids to have headlight washers, I went through this same debate when I fitted them to my Glanza 5 years back, it's just that the mot stations are looking out for it now. Same scenario with sun strips, tinted lights, smaller numberplates etc. personally I was just gonna fit them and take them out for mot if need be.But if you're interested mate ill do them for £30 posted. scutch0
I don't want to sort out postage, if you wish to sort your own postage I'm happy to wrap them up. However I am already considering an offer from another member who is planning to organise postage. If he declines you have second dibbs.
