james@cjperformance Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Right guys and girlsThought I would just follow on from the other topic to see what would be the best idea for this situation. It is something we have been looking in to for the past 12 monthsThere are a few options availableFull uprated drive shafts complete with machined hubs and larger bearingsstandard size complete uprated driveshaftsUprated replacement CV JointsObviously the most expensive of these options is the full set with bigger cv,s bearing and machined hubs, been as most of our products are made in the states the shipping cost for the first and second option would be quite high due to the size and weight.were as uprated cv joints could be used on most applications and even as just a replacement part with price in mindwhat are peoples thoughts on the above, as of yet we cant decide which would be the better option for both performance and your pockets :)oh and the price difference beetween all 3 would be pretty drastic
Ryan-11 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Uprated replacement CV Joints, dont think ive ever seen a starlet snapping a drive shaft?
james@cjperformance Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 ive not seen one go before either
little dave Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Cvs could be a good starting point I guess it's all down to a estimated cost on each optionMite make life alot easier
james@cjperformance Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 1st option for a full set including verything to fit would be around £900 full uprated shafts would be around£450 and uprated joints would be around £175
Glanza Mac Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Sounds like pretty fair prices tbh, I'd be in for the cv joints Rob.
little dave Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Cvs defo mate for that sort of price no one would say no
shorty Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I have to agree, i think if you go the whole hog its over engineering a solution to a small problem. i think start with cv' james and see if/what becomes the next week leank then deal with that if/when its been discovered.
james@cjperformance Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 ^^^^ would be all 4 for that price dude, inc fresh boots grease and clips And shorty I think your right, the whole hog is a bit overkill, we will see
daniel_g Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Sounds well good, could you supply/include the rubber balancer too ?
james@cjperformance Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 ^^^ more than likely, may even look into having them made from polyurethane
mattyD Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 ^^^ more than likely, may even look into having them made from polyurethane Would be a definite plus from me if this where the case mate, may aswell go all out if your going to do it?
turbo Grant Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 The joints will be a good starting point. The price is good so more people will buy them. The all out kit only a few will buy I suspect.
Got.boost Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I would be in for done uprated cv's as I have never seen and starlet snap a shaft :-)

turboloon Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 in what way are these going to be uprated ...stronger cages for the bearings...?,i would be deffo intrested as well as i'm replacing cv joints every couple years...
