Looking at manifolds, mild is the cheapest but is it worth the extra 70 quid or so for stainless looking at zisco one's... The ct9 compact one looking good spool wise but the ram style will produce more power am guessing cause of its length? Anyone comparing any other ct9 mani's?

If its 321 stainless then it ment to have better properties than mild steel hence the slight price increase but normal stainless steel like some exhausts are made from can crack under heat

Think al go stainless they never seem to come up on here 2nd hand which is a good thing I suppose :) cheers for the input everyone

I've always gone mild as 90% of ss manis crack on starlets just do some searches on here and tgtt and i think all manufacturers have had manis fail tbh

Stainless if done right is better in every way than mild baring cost.

The main reason most SS manifolds crack is due to buying shanghai specials with 1mm thick walls.

There is a reason most drag, race or drift cars use stainless, that is because it is much better then mild and loads cheaper than titanium.

Am running 1 bar of boost has anyone ran this on a mild steel zisco withought any cracking problems I understand things expand over time and wear I just want something to keep me happy couple years :)

I had one on my last V, ran a bar and it was an awesome bit of kit. Quality welds and an awesome design, mine was heat wrapped too which apparently causes cracking but I never had an issue.

Addy were you using the stainless? What did you think of spool time power etc I just want an insight cause am gunna buy one near summer :) cheers

I had a mild steel ram horn one, I should of gone stainless really Keith at Zisco knocks out some top quality kit, I was just being a cheap skate at the time!

Improved my spool by a couple of hundred rpm, sounded better and the ass dyno agreed that it helped! With that, a Zep ECU, a decat, exhaust, relocated filter and a bar of boost I ran a 14.7 1/4 mile at Santa pod on ditch finders!

Cool man sounds great! What bhp did you get then am literally gunna be happy with anything over 180 am not power hungry ad rather keep reliability :)

Ive always used mild steel manifolds. As i couldnt be bothered with a stainless cracking all the time. A lot of people run stainless ones without crack issues though so i think its just down to personal preference.
