Carbon / charcoal canister

Ive read about these being removed some say it's unsafe and will adversely affect what mpg we do get, others say vent pipe to atmosphere pointing under car and remove it.

Has anyone got any idea if it is safe or will affect mpg a lot?

My old starlet didn't have one, and it looks ugly if I can remove it I'd definitely like to.

Mines been removed, i just vented it to atmosphere, i have heard its an mot failure though

Understandable, thanks mate. I'm going to go tug the bugger out, did you leave the hose on it but 180 it back so it vents under car?

I think mines on a pipe with a small filter on it, either an old fuel filter or some one way valve or a pulse reducer thing, and it goes behind the inlet and out of site a bit.

Could u not just pimp the carbon canister like on old minis they put redbull cans over the igniter
