Light Flywheel...? 3.6 kgs?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday we started breaking my Glanza I bought for parts :)

besides some nice other goodies, I was already wondering what kind of flywheel there was in it because the car revved extremely quick.

Now I have seen some light flywheels for sale but around 6/7 kgs and not 3.6kg's like this one.

are there only pro's on having this flywheel or is it maybe too light?

It won't make any difference on paper, it's feel like gain. It's like removing weight from the car by removing rotational weight. So on a dyno you won't see an actual gain but it will rev faster and you will feel like you have gained power. It does effect other things like crushing fuel consumption. You will have to use more of the gogo pedal to cruse increasing fuel consumption, you'll get less gear braking to.
