Cheap track day car options????

Just thought I'd fire a post up here to see what people use for track day cars I know alot of you track your ep,s but I don't really want to track mine I'm going to be looking for a cheap track day car next month don't really want to spend more that about 1500 just want sumthing I can strip out fire a bucket seat in harness maybe suspension and tyres and rag the life out it for some summer fun :) I'm thought of a few options so far but just wanted to see what people think

I've been thinking of

Nissan sunny gti the 2.0 na one

Primara gti

1.8 vti civic 5 door

Mr2 gt ltd

Don't want any French crap want something that

can take a good thrashing

Anyone got any other options that are in my price range??

has to be a civic with a d16 or b series swap... so cheap....



tbh tho, GT Turbos r getting cheap now and there soooo light... u can get one for a grand i would think if you looked about properly!

I've been looking for corolla gti,s had one of them when I was 18 and that thing took a hell of alot of abuse could not the the thing just not any about forsale these days I want it to be n/a tbh ther is a White sunny gti on egay that I mite go have a look at has anyone had a sunny gti do they go well?

Mx5 but bit gutless

Celica cheap to buy but not cheapest to tune

MR2 but they are a bitch to work on engine

Gt but would need money on suspension arb etc

or, and don't discount these as I have a lot of respect for them on track........Clio 172!

I wouldn't get an almera myself, not heard great things about them handling wise which is what you want to concentrate on. You might get lucky with a rough EK4 or what about a mk3 golf gti?

the 3 door civic vti's are probably quicker as they are lighter and only 10hp down at 158hp.



the nissan's both use non turbo SR20de's so yes 2.0l but only 145ish hp iirc they are pretty solid engines and with the right mods can be free'd up quite well,


always have the option of boost with the SR20deT which is the turbo motor or get the neo vvl engine which is nissans vtec SR20VE and are 197hp stock n/a lol

I know il be hated for this but what about a red top corsa? Parts are easy to source along with cheap new parts and if you wreck it, what the hell at least it's another corsa off the road lol

I had a red top corsa for my first car when I was 17 never again near killed myself on countless times
