JayJ Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 So, turbo(ct9) intake is 55mm and I don't want to remove AC, because car is in a daily use. Would it be possible to use a silicone joiner to connect efi pipe and turbo? What is the outer diameter(inside diameter is 40mm) of the efi pipe's turbo end? Second option is mesh, but in a daily use it will suck a lot of dust in or can I use some kind of filter in between two mesh, probably it will restrict the flow too much? Third option is replacing the efi pipe with silicone elbows and aluminium pipes, but is there enough room for this? Fourth, a smaller AC condenser? lol :-P Quote
Jim* Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 get rid of the AC mate, when does it ever get hot enough to use it here? And it weights a fucking TON! Quote
JayJ Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Really don't want to do it although I have already read the guide and it's tempting Quote
akyakapotter Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Just rip the A/C out I always said I wouldn't get rid of mine it was ripped out with in the first year of owning the car Quote
Matt1878 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 One of the first things I did in my Glanza was rip out the AC and relocate the filter... Massive difference... By far one of the best mods. Remove weight = free power. Relocated filter = more power. The UK is no way near hot enough for AC, open a window;) Quote
scottyb Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Im the same with removing the ac, dont really want to as i think it'll help resale etc to have it lol Quote
DevonGT Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) It can be pretty cold where you are, so don't see why you would need it. Edited April 27, 2013 by DevonGT Quote
Addymk2 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I ripped mine out before driving to southern France/Spain in the summer lol window open and it was peachy :-) Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Why not just undo it and take it out instead of "ripping" it out then can be sold with the car or refitted when needed? Quote
morgey Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Air cons not just good in the summer. De-mists like a fucking boss in the winter on cold mornings in my corolla! My starlet i have to wait until it gets warm before its even starting to! If theres a way around id keep it. But you could be worse and have a black car in the sun lol Quote
JayJ Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) It's pure luxury on a hot summer day when you can sit in the car and get it cool in a minute not forgetting demist on rainy/cold days. Also humming noise and breeze from the opened window is unpleasant.I'll try to cut the efi pipe and use a silicone joiner, because you failed to give better solutions Edited April 27, 2013 by JayJ Quote
scottyb Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Im pretty sure there was something on tgtt about filter relocation while keeping the ac, ill have a quick look Quote

JayJ Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 Could someone measure a efi pipe's outer diameter from the turbo end, thanks? :-) Quote
