FreedomCore
Was cleaning the SR today and noticed that the front bumper on the passenger side has dropped a fair amount. Anyone found a remedy for this? Ignore the little rust patch.
Ryan-11
Put a socket on the bolt that bolts up to the wing and push up on it to close the gap
Liam_D
Mine keeps doing this, it's mega annoying but its all down to the weight of the FMIC on mine I think
daniel_g
Not to everyone's taste but, i bought these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COMPETITION-BONNET-BOOT-BUMPER-SPRING-LATCH-KIT-/390549878653?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5aee96377d Yet to fit them though. But I don't think it will go well with the Sr+ look.

Just a little worried someone will undo them on the work car park hahaAs said though, put a socket on the bolt that tightens it up and I personally use a scissor jack to push it back up, works on our old civic a treat
daniel_g
I only have a 10mm nut an bolt at either side of my bumper holding it on so those bumper springs will be essential when my GT goes on the road soon.
Addymk2
1 question; how stiff are those spring kits? They look a lil weedy Edited May 27, 2013 by Addymk2
daniel_g
The springs themselves are pretty solid and the top bit gets riveted into the wing which is more than enough to support a plastic bumperPlus just about every car at japfest had them and they look quality haha. FreedomCore
I ended up putting a long bolt and nut on it. The original screw/bolt wasn't biting.
StuDoc 72
There is a small plastic grommet which goes into the wing. The bolt which goes from the bumper into the wing to hold that up is infact a screw which screws into said grommet. These grommets wear out after time causing this to happen. I have been trying to source these clips. Unfortunately my main set back has been what they are called as when you type in bumper clip it comes up with the inevitable circle poppy 1s. So when I do eventually source them (which I will) I will post it up on the forum. Even worth trying Idrees he may have contacts who can pick these up.
StuDoc 72
I ended up putting a long bolt and nut on it. The original screw/bolt wasn't biting. Thats not the best idea. The wing is thin exposed metal. The nut and bolt will also be cheap exposed metal. It will do if you dont even want to get the bumper off again. If you do you might have trouble.

StuDoc 72
It wont mate. Pull out the clip and use a cable tie through both the holes. Will be alot easier to work with mate and should hold the bumper up perfectly. U will have to do it from in behind but if you put the wheels on full lock and pull back the arch liner it should be easy enough.
FreedomCore
Lol I normally resort to cable ties. But i thought to myself that on this occasion ill use something less bodge. Ill do it next sun shine. Cheers
jezza
I've opted for nut and bolt when the plastic clip wears out. Speed clip of some sort might work and make life easier than trying to get a socket or spanner behind the wheel arch liner. Spring steel clips over sheet metal and accepts a self tapper. http://www.taiwantrade.com.tw/resources/member/115216/productcatalog/bd3364f3-e18b-4fa6-a612-9844aa811d59_HW002.JPG

jezza
It's a nut and bolt, not exactly miraculous lol. Probably M6x20 I'd say. With a plain nut and 20mm OD M6 washers. I could probably send you some for a small fee if you can't find them locally.
StuDoc 72
Sooo guys managed to hunt down the correct parts. Unfortunately 50p a whip isnt exactly bargain busting mind you im sure they will be available cheaper but its defo a start. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281024690487?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 EDIT: Aha just found these. Again not the cheapest but it shows tht if you look in the right place you can find them. I'm sure these can be sourced in smaller quantities. http://www.trimclipsuk.com/?gclid=CM60jMvhx7cCFYTItAodLyAARQ Edited June 3, 2013 by StuDoc
