Amjad
Has anyone got one of the cheaper tools? Seen this but dunno if it'll fit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Draper-Brake-Caliper-Wind-Back-Cube-Tool-3-8-Inch-Square-Drive-52334-/261213536787?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3cd18a4213
AdamB
Am not really a fan of the cube style ones tbh.I picked up a whole re-wind set, from ebay, good quality for like £20 delivered, came with all the bits to fit pretty much every size piston you'll ever see. This one :http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Caliper-Piston-Rewind-Wind-Back-Tool-Kit-22PC-Set-Right-Left-Handed-/230999905166?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item35c8aad38e Edited June 15, 2013 by AdamB
Amjad
I'd only need it for the GT, I don't suppose you could be able to identify one of those type of tools with just the one fitting for EPs?
AdamB
Couldn't tell you the size of the piston on the EP tbh buddy. Am sure someone will know though. You can hire them from some places, but not sure on the cost and it's easier to have the tool all the time as well.
Amjad
No worries thanks for the help! I'll give it until tomorrow night if anyone does know, otherwise I'll order a full kit! Found one for £
akyakapotter
I just used a set of needle nosed pliers last time I wound mine back
Bean
Halfords sell a rewind tool. Isn't there a socket that fits the rear Caliper pistons on these?
WallaceGlanza
That cube works fine for me.

StuDoc 72
Cube, long nose pliers even a screwdriver. It aint the tool you jus gotta have the skills lol. Edited June 16, 2013 by StuDoc
Amjad
Haha skills is something I don't really have when it comes to cars
Amjad
Bump anyone know what the non cube tool is so I can buy a single one and not a full kit?
StuDoc 72
Have you tried it with a pair of long nose pliers? The tool is only really needed if its tight or slightly seized if they are free they will wind back no bother.
turbo Grant
Just get one that 6mm pins and 16 and 28mm apart. Should do the job. I've got a full set for work and I only use about 3 of the adapters
Amjad
Wicked thanks Grant! Yeah I tried needle nose pliers, the piston is a little stiff and won't budge. I didn't wanna force it for the caliper seal to tear!
Amjad
WIN! Just before clicking buy it now on Ebay, thought I'd double check if I could find my mole grips, found them and being careful not to tear the seals I managed to get one caliper wound in! Just need to do the other and then they're ready for paint when it arrives and then fitting!
Bean
Winding them out a little and spraying some wd40 behind the seals is worth a go too before winding them in.
turbo Grant
Should have wound them out and cleaned the seal and piston up and take the seals and sliders out. Main reason for stcky brakes is the rust behind the seals causing them to shrink effectively. Get your self some silicone grease. It's your friend on lots of things
Amjad
Doh! Haha I'm gonna have the other pair rebuilt anyway but thanks for the tips guys!
