Nanglebadger
Greetings gang. Need a bit of assistance if possible. My old man is lookin to buy a portable GPS system for when he's on the continent. We know they dont cover NI for some strange reason, probably think we all still live in caves and wear loin cloths and fig leaves or somethin feckin stupid. Can anyone who knows abit about them recommend which one is best, Tom Tom or Garmin etc etc.Cheers all. Phil.

paulgtt
your better off with a snooper evoultion for camera detection. but its about 400 quid.
scutch0
yeah, the tom tom's are supposed to be the best, and no one at work rates the snoopers at all, everyone normally buys the road angels.Rich.

Robbo
this a grey area for me but while we are on the subject could anyone also recomend a decent gps speed camera detecter, ive been readin reviews of different versions but not too sure on which ones best?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I use the Origin B2, its usually rated quite high, and I must say its helped save my licence a couple of times! As for GPS, I've not got a system myself, but borrowed a friends tom tom once, it was good at navigating even if i did lead to the wrong place but it got there in the end, and I used a dated version (about 3 years out of date) - probably loads better now.The important thing is to keep them updated. lobotomy
Nobody use road maps anymore? They are pretty handy though.
garbla900
im the sat nav specialist for my halfords. if you want the best camera dector get the origin b2 it the beat out there cause it can even get the cameras that point the other way if the are fake or not and its not one of these snooper craps that give you false warnings all the time. alternitivly go for the road angle compact it dont get lasers but its dam good. also if you get the snooper shit you could find it out toi be a waste of money as of i think mits feb next year laser dectors will either be illegal to own or use im not sure. if you want easy to use sat nav get the tomtom one its a good price and its the easyest to use of the lot and if you do sorkout for a more expencive one then you might moght get a load of stuff that you will newver use. if you got any questrions gimme a msg andy.
