98 vs 96 differences

i know this is in chassis but...

what are the differences between the two in the whole car?

reason i like the 98 spec but 96 one has become avaliable

Different seats, split rear bench, passenger airbag, different steering wheel, different rear lights, facelift bumpers. Thats all I can think of off top of my head, may of missed something!!

Think the 96 clocks go to 110kph and the 98 go to 180

im sure i read there were rumors they also had different cams as 98's seemed to make better power on TD's dyno?

You need different brackets as they split fold, sure the mounting points are there

Well, I speak for my NA, but if the 96 has a non splitable rear bench, then why has my 97 NA a splittable one? (with headrests even, but that's an optional on my car)

Post a pic mate, can usually tell by looking, the non powerfolding ones look like they were plonked on as an after thought, the folding ones look like they're meant to be there is the only way I can describe it

Non folding are just colour coded uk mirrors, only came on poverty spec models of both 96 and 98 spec cars

Heater controls are different to also floor carpets are different colours..

German Spec ones all have a Passenger Airbag.

I'd need parts of a Belgian one to get rid of that.

No they ain't , just depends if it comes with climate control or not,

98's also have passenger seatbelt warning

There's not much in them and I prefer the 96 as everyone bums the 98 hard !

The 98 has the better looking interior of the two, carpet is darker and seat pattern too.

They all had white dials but 98 has red needles.
