5e colin
150k miles on a turbo engine is pushin it in my eyes better give her a bottom end rebuild soon its the conrod bearings that have the most stress so rip of pump and fit a new set at a minimum but as said some do go for 300k km its a gamble
LeeUK93
Any key things to look for, I'm off to view one tomorrow I already know of some faults. But what should I look out for ? (Generally)
5e colin
just evrything really these cars get raped hard by almost all owners these little engines do suffer from raised boost ha ha i check for crash damage thats al i car about really the rest can be fixed if u get car cheap just check the whole car and take a car entusiast that knows these beast with ya
LeeUK93
Well the engine is still standard and what not, But I am going to be checking everywhere.
PaulStarletSR
turbo or n/a?
WallaceGlanza
I wouldn't go for a 15 - 20 year old turbo engine with that mileage, a modern diesel yes but engines like ours won't last forever.
dangeestarlet
I had a micra as a daily and that was nearly 20 year old and it was on 230k miles and that's the same sort of jap engine and I give it absolutely death on the limiter everywhere for nearly a year without servicing it or nout and it still ran as sweet as a nut Edited September 13, 2013 by dangeestarlet
Glanza-Ben
167k on mine and still loves life apart from 5th gear, if any engine is serviced well it can last for ever
TurboTobz
167k on mine and still loves life apart from 5th gear, if any engine is serviced well it can last for ever I think that's a little bit inaccurate lol

Glanza-Ben
I think that's a little bit inaccurate lolNot really it depends how heavy your right foot is if you give it hell 24/7 it will go bang like any engine and that mileage is mixed but still says it on the clock lol
PaulStarletSR
my old starlet SR engine had 155k miles on it when i wrote it off and it ran PERFECTLY. no oil burnin etc and always done good mpg.i miss her alot :-(
