Sandham
Hi fitted my td04 kit yesterday i got from glanza sheeny, all seems well except the turbo sounds really whistley when building boost?Ive meshed the turbo because i didnt have the correct size relocation pipework.. Could it just be because of this?
Socks
Mesh will make the turbo ALOT louder... Ontop of that it is much bigger then a ct9 too! Get a video uploaded to youtube and link us up!
StuDoc 72
Are the blades chipped? If the blades are damaged it causes a turbo to whistle its tits off.
Sandham
Will do, and the turbo seemed ok to me but to be honest i dont have much knowledge when it comes to the ins and outs of one other than basics like shaft play
StuDoc 72
If you have a look at the blades on the comp wheel and see any chips on it then its likely this is causing it but as said above. Having no filter causes the noise to be more obvious.
Beastmode panda
Boost leak?
Sandham
Now its all fitted i cant really see into the housing but ill try have a look later when i change the oil and filter. Tried to video it but doesnt really pick the noise up too much. It builds and holds boost all the way through the gears and once it reaches full boost (0.5 bar) the whistling quietens offThere seems to be some play in the shaft but doesnt seem to be alot, the ct9 i removed had more. StuDoc 72
Will just be because there is no filter mate if its building boost fine.
Azz
Its called epic noise, this is caused when mesh is used instead of filters because filters suck and ruine noise

StuDoc 72
Sounds good I agree but I got far better airflow and more power with a well located filter.
daniel_g
I had a filter for rainy days and when i went up the beach, any other time i had mesh on, noise was outstanding. TD04
