daniel_g
Doesnt sound good, get a race-spec rocker cover & catch can setup, that should let the engine breathe better.
Taggy
is your oil cap a push fit?, it should be screw on so its impossible for it to come off!

daniel_g
Where do the lines plumb into ? High crankcase pressure can be a problem on starlet engines but it shouldn't be that bad to blow the oil cap off lol !!
shorty
Nope! Should not be pushing the cap off mate. Not got a crack in the block have ya? You checked the plugs to see if any are soaked in oil? Should not be getting extreme oil pressure just from a new turbo. How new is it? Maybe the core has a brech to the oil ways. Defo sounds like air is being forced into the oilways tbh. Defo sounds like air is being forced into the oilways tbh.my mate says he can check for cracks in the block but theres nothing obvious at the moment :s its only covered about 2k miles since new built buy liam on jere so I trust the turbo although the oil feed pipe wasnt on properly when I first started it up and drained the oil out so it was runing without oil for a bit like 20 seconds ill wip the plugs out soon to check I havnt got a socket bit will borrow one soon Edited October 22, 2013 by Cheznutter
Chris Green
What are the threads like on the cap & rocker cover? Surely it would take some amount of pressure to blow it off. Would there not be a huge hole in bonnet and a very loud bang?
Cheznutter
yeah thats whatbi mean by its probably not on very well it just doesnt feel solid when its on there anyone got an original ?.
Chris Green
I'll have a check for a spare one. If I find one, its yours for the price of a stamp
Chris_GlanzaV98
make sure your pvc/breather isnt blocked and maybe invest in a new oil cap threads could be worn or something mate
rmsnoel
The cap should screw on really easily then tight at the very very last. Try with no oil cap on, cover it with your.mates hand and you feel the pressure. It shouldnt be much at all. Do your revs rise or drop when u cover-uncover the oil cap hole. It should not. Male.sure your crankcase pipe and valve are not blocked
ryan lang
has it got the rubber seal in the under side? its just a rubber ring that sits around the top of the thread and under the actual cap part sometimes this tends to fall out
yaristurbo
I sometime struggle to do mine by hand that can't be crank case pressure surely?Would expect a big Mess under bonnet and smoke Edited October 22, 2013 by yaristurbo
