smb2011
Down a 1/4 mile what would finish first and do a better time matching bhp just one with normal flywheel and one with a lighten one ? Much differents ? Worth paying the money for one?
H_D
A lightened flywheel should help it rev up faster but the revs will also drop faster between gear changes
Mikeyallgood85
I'll let you know when mines fitted tomorrow :-D I wouldn't have thought that it would drop down the Rev's faster as it's lighter, I would of thought it would spin slightly faster and more freely when the clutch is disengaged due to not having as much weight resistance! mattyD
I found mine a bit of a waste of money, revved ever so slightly quicker and that was about it, money can be spent elsewhere for far more gains
Mikeyallgood85
The rotational mass on stock flywheel is heavier. so the weight of the standard flywheel keeps the crank spinning because of the extra kg and the engine does the opposite with the lighter flywheel by creating more resistance? Phil
so the weight of the standard flywheel keeps the crank spinning because of the extra kg and the engine does the opposite with the lighter flywheel by creating more resistance? your engine spins either, up to the point you lift off the throttle at that point the rotational weight of the flywheel governs how quickly it will slow down. heavy slows down slower lighter slows down faster. much like a freewheeling lorry wont slow down as fast as a unmaned tricycle. Thomastaylor
I have my competition flywheel and organic Exedy clutch to fit soon so will be interesting to see if it makes much difference
smithyithy
Would you notice the effect of engine braking more with a lighter fly wheel?
The Toffinator
less engine braking mate
Jamie1st
To me the car felt a lot 'lighter' to drive, I like mine
monty1991
all i noticed was the car turned over faster on start up lol
Arnold
No complaints with mine, I've got the Fidanza one. A worthwhile mod if you've got a larger turbo as it helps get to higher revs faster to spool the turbo
Chris_GlanzaV98
Im running spec 6 clutch and flywheel but mine went from like 170 to 280 hp and these parts were fitted so hard forMe to single out just the flywheel, although it idles pretty fast on cold startup
